CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ADDITION OF STAFF
FOR THE ECONOMIC AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
DEPARTMENT AND AMENDING THE ECONOMIC AND
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT'S FISCAL
YEAR 2015-2016 OPERATING BUDGET,
WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco ("City") staff recommends that the
City Council adopt a resolution authorizing the addition of one Economic Development
Coordinator and one Management Analyst 11 position; and amending the Economic
Development Department's 2015-2016 Fiscal Year operating budget; and
WHEREAS, City and the Economic and Community Development Department
have recognized the need for additional full time staff to meet the departments objectives
and goals following the departure of a sixteen year veteran consultant; and
WHEREAS, the department expects significant increases in program management
responsibilities and development with the implementation of the Long Range Property
Management Plan (LRPMP); and
WHEREAS, the approval of the new staff positions will meet the city's succession
planning efforts and allow the department to effectively manage development deals, real
property disposition and the administration of the City's affordable housing programs, grant
applications, and monitoring the 100 loans in the city's affordable housing and first-time home
buyers portfolio.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco that the City Council hereby:
I. Authorizes the Economic and Community Development Department to
hire an Economic Development Coordinator and a Management Analyst 11,
2. Amends the Police Department's Fiscal Year 2015•2016 Operating
Budget to account for the additional employee salaries and benefits.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by
the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 13t" day of
April, 2016 by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Richard A. Garbarino and Liza Normandy
Vice Mayor.Pradeep Gupta and Mayor Mark N. Addiego
NOES: Councilmembers liar Matsumoto
ABSTAIN: None
