RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE
CONSULTING SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH
MUNISERVICES, LLC TO EXTEND THE TERM OF THE
AGREEMENT TO JUNE 30, 2017.
WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco entered into a Consulting Services Agreement with
MuniServices in November 2001 to provide Sales and Use Tax Audit Services and Sales Tax Analysis
reporting Services; and
WHEREAS, the City and MuniServices have extended the term of the Agreement several times
since inception, most recently in 2014, which extended the term to June 30, 2015; and
WHEREAS, the contract needs to be extended; and
WHEREAS, on January 13, 2016, the City Council authorized MuniServices to access data records
related to Measure W, the half -cent transactions and use tax approved by South San Francisco voters in
November 2015; and
WHEREAS, the State Board of Equalization requires a current agreement between the City and
MuniServices to provide access to Measure W tax revenue data records to MuniServices; and
WHEREAS, staff will continue its due diligence efforts in ensuring the City receives high quality
services at a competitive rate by issuing a Request for Proposals in 2017 to open this service to the
market for competitive bidding.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
that the Consulting Services Agreement with MuniServices, LLC is hereby amended to extend the term
of the Agreement to June 30, 2017.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council that the City Manager is authorized to execute
the amendment to the Consulting Services Agreement with MuniServices, LLC to extend the term of the
Agreement and to take any other action consistent with the intent of this resolution.
At a meeting of the City Council on 7/27/2016, a motion was made by Pradeep Gupta, seconded by
Liza Normandy, that this Resolution be approved. The motion passed.
