WHEREAS, staff recommends the acceptance of a grant in the amount of $70,000 for personnel
overtime and training expenses from the State of California, Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) for the
"Selective Traffic Enforcement Program "; and
WHEREAS, the grant funding will be used to augment the operating budget of the Police
Department for Fiscal Year 2016 -2017.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that
the City Council hereby accepts the $70,000 grant from the State of California, OTS and amends the
Fiscal Year 2016 -2017 Police Department Operating Budget to reflect this increase of funds.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a grant agreement,
any other necessary documents on behalf of the City to carry out the intent of this resolution, subject to
approval as to form by the City Attorney.
At a meeting of the City Council on 8/24/2016, a motion was made by Richard Garbarino, seconded 0
Liza Normandy, that this Resolution be approved. The motion passed. I
