RESOLUTION AMENDING THE SALARY SCHEDULE EFFECTIVE
DECEMBER 30, 2016, TO REFLECT THE INCREASE IN THE
CALIFORNIA MINIMUM WAGE EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2017,
AND TO AMEND THE SUCCEEDING SALARY SCHEDULES TO
COMPLY WITH THE CALIFORNIA MINIMUM WAGES AS A
RESULT OF CALIFORNIA SENATE BILL 3.
WHEREAS, Pursuant to Municipal Code 3.04.020, City Council must approve any revisions to the
City's compensation plan, and this resolution would approve the salary ranges for the impacted positions
effective the beginning of the pay period in which each minimum wage increase takes effect; and
WHEREAS, The California minimum wage bill tier increase schedule is Exhibit A and reflects an
increase to $15.00 per hour over a 6 year span.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
hereby approves a resolution revising the Salary Schedule effective December 30, 2016, and succeeding
years pursuant to SB 3, the City will be in compliance with the new California minimum wages through
2022 as set forth in Exhibit A.
At a meeting of the City Council on 12/14/2016, a motion was made by Liza Normandy, seconded by
Richard Garbarino, that this Resolution be approved.The motion passed.
