Motion to approve the minutes of the Recreation and Park District Meeting that took place on December 9, 2015.(Krista Martinelli, City Clerk) RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Council approve the minutes of the Recreation and Park District Meeting that took place on December 9, 2015. BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION Originally established in 1950 as the Park,Recreation and Parkway District,this entity was reorganized as the Recreation and Park District (District)in 1961 in conformance with Public Resources Code Section 5780 et.seq.The Board of Directors of the District may:1)Organize,promote,conduct and advise programs of community recreation;2)Establish,maintain and operate recreation centers,parks and parkways;and 3) Provide transportation services.The District’s primary focus has been to oversee activities associated with the Oyster Point Marina. As part of the District’s administrative process,the minutes of the previous year’s meeting must be approved annually. CONCLUSION The District should hold its annual meeting and approve the minutes of the meeting of December 9, 2015. Attachment: Minutes of the December 9, 2015 Meeting of the District.
