City Council i OR1`P Resolution: RES 101-2017 File Number: 17-715 Enactment Number: RES 101-2017 RESOLUTION APPROVING THE FILING OF A GRANT APPLICATION IN A TOTAL AMOUNT OF $1,153,233 FROM THE DIVISION OF BOATING AND WATERWAYS BOATING INFRASTRUCTURE GRANT PROGRAM FOR A FUEL DOCK SYSTEM REPLACEMENT AT OYSTER POINT MARINA. WHEREAS,the City of South San Francisco ("City")has ownership of Oyster Point Marina; and WHEREAS, the City desires to replace the fuel dock at Oyster Point Marina to meet the needs of the boaters and to provide public access to these facilities; and WHEREAS, the Division of Boating and Waterways accepts applications for state grant funding to construct, renovate or maintain boating infrastructure facilities through its Boating Infrastructure Grant Program(Grant Program); and WHEREAS, initial estimates place the cost of replacing the fuel dock at approximately$2,615,040; and WHEREAS, Grant Program eligible project costs are estimated at$2,353,536; and WHEREAS, staff recommends that the City Council approve submission of a grant funding request in the amount of$1,153,233; and WHEREAS, state law requires successful Grant Program applicants to provide a minimum of 25 percent of project costs. WHEREAS, the local matching funds, in the amount of $1,200,303, would come from community facilities district revenues from a proposed community facilities district related to the Oyster Point area properties. NOW,THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED,that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco hereby authorizes the City Manager to prepare,sign,and submit a grant application to the Division of Boating and Waterways requesting $1,153,233 in Grant Program funding for a fuel dock system replacement; and hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute a grant agreement with California State Parks, Division of Boating and Waterways and any amendments to said grant agreement.
