Box 711 (City Hall, °� ° `" 400 Grand Avenue) _� South San Francisco, CA � City Council -/FOR Resolution: RES 102-2017 File Number: 17-795 Enactment Number: RES 102-2017 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF UP TO $8,225 IN LIBRARY SERVICES AND TECHNOLOGY ACT GRANT FUNDING FROM THE CALIFORNIA STATE LIBRARY TO SUPPORT LIBRARY SERVICES FOR VETERANS, AND AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO ADJUST THE LIBRARY DEPARTMENT'S FISCAL YEAR 2017-18 OPERATING BUDGET ON RECEIPT OF FUNDS. WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco ("City") Library Department is dedicated to assisting all residents in locating and accessing information; and WHEREAS, in July 2017 the Library Department was awarded federal Library Services and Technology Act funding,administered by the California State Library,in an amount up to$8,225 to support a Veterans Connect @ the Library Resource Center; and WHEREAS, the project will focus on assisting California veterans and their families in identifying and accessing state and federal resources and benefits; and WHEREAS, funding for this grant is reimbursement based with total costs not to exceed$8,225; and WHEREAS, receipt of these grant funds does not commit the City to ongoing funding; and WHEREAS, the foregoing grant funds will be used to amend the Library Department's Fiscal Year(FY) 2017-18 operating budget on receipt. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby accepts up to$8,225 in grant funding from the California State Library and authorizes the Finance Director to amend the Library Department's FY2017-18 operating budget in order to reflect an increase in the amount received from the California State Library.
