District in accordance with Title 20 of the South San Francisco
Municipal Code and determination that the project is
categorically exempt from CEQA.
The Board had the following comments:
1. Consider using the same type of planter boxes in front of the units that are used on
the residential units on the El Camino side.
2. The proposed railings and color of the units should match with the existing
structure.

with Title 20 of the South San Francisco Municipal Code and
determination that the project is categorically exempt from
CEQA, per Class 1, Section 15301.
The Board had the following comments:
1. The Board liked the design concept.
2. On the front eleveation, consider reducing the plate height from 10 ft to 9 ft to
help with the massing on the front addition.
3. Carry the vertical siding around the house.
4. Correct the roof plan, as the plans are drawn incorrectly on the west elevation.
5. All the new windows should match the existing dwelling.
Recommend Approval with Conditions

Density Residential (RL-8) Zoning District in accordance with
Title 20 of the South San Francisco Municipal Code and
determination that the project is categorically exempt from
CEQA, per Class 1, Section 15301.
The Board had the following comments:
1. Revise the design of the front foyer addition to better integrate with the existing
dwelling. The proposed foyer is too tall and out of scale with the structure.
2. Consider using energy efficient windows.
3. Add a vertical element at the front entrance to create a sense of arrival into the
dwelling. The metal awning is out of character with the dwelling, consider a
redesign.
4. Consider trimming out the front doors with a thicker trim to enhance the area.
5. Revise the roof plan, as the plans and elevations do not match.
Recommend Approval with Conditions.

The Board had the following comments:
1. The Board liked the design concept.
2. All the windows should match the existing dwelling, including the trim.
3. On the East Elevation, add some type of articulation to help break up the large
blank wall.
4. Add a street tree.
Recommend Approval with Conditions.

The Board had the following comments:
1. The Board liked the design concept.
2. The plans need to include the garage dimensions.
3. Check with the Building Department on the requirements for the foundation for
the proposed dwelling.
4. Match the proposed roof & color with the existing structures on site.
Recommend Approval with Conditions.

Residential (RL-8) Zoning District in accordance with Title 20 of
the South San Francisco Municipal Code and determination that
the project is categorically exempt from CEQA, per Class 1,
Section 15301.
The Board had the following comments:
1. Submit a landscaping plan as part of your DRB submittal for staff to review prior
to a building permit being issued.
2. Per zoning ordinance 20.080.004, no more than 50 percent of the entire front yard
or required street side yard may be covered with paved impervious surface.
3. Confirm that the solar panels will not be reflective onto the adjacent property.
