Box 711 (City Hall, 400 Grand Avenue) South San Francisco, CA City Council Resolution: RES 132 -2017 File Number: 17 -987 Enactment Number: RES 132 -2017 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING $110,000 FROM THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY FOR THE "SELECTIVE TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM" TO BE USED FOR PERSONNEL OVERTIME AND TRAINING EXPENSES, AND AMENDING THE POLICE DEPARTMENT'S OPERATING BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2017 -18 BY APPROVING BUDGET AMENDMENT 18.008. WHEREAS, staff recommends the acceptance of a grant in the amount of $110,000 for personnel overtime and training expenses from the State of California, Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) for the "Selective Traffic Enforcement Program "; and WHEREAS, the grant funding will be used to augment the operating budget of the Police Department for Fiscal Year 2017 -18. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby accepts the $110,000 grant from the State of California, OTS and amends the Fiscal Year 2017 -18 Police Department Operating Budget to reflect this increase of funds and that the City Council does hereby approve Budget Amendment 18.008. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a grant agreement, any other necessary documents on behalf of the City to carry out the intent of this resolution, subject to approval as to form by the City Attorney. At a meeting of the City Council on 10/11/2017, a motion was made by Richard Garbarino, seconded by Liza Normandy, that this Resolution be approved. The motion passed.
