RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING ALLOWING
THE PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT TO INSTALL A
SCOREBOARD AT CALLERO BASEBALL FIELD, LOCATED AT
THE SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT'S
BADEN SCHOOL CAMPUS, AND AUTHORIZING THE
ACCEPTANCE OF THE IN -KIND DONATION AND INSTALLATION
OF A NEW SCOREBOARD BY THE INTERNATIONAL
BROTHERHOOD OF ELECTRICAL WORKERS.
WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco ( "City ") and South San Francisco Unified School District
reauthorized a Joint Powers Agreement in 2008, a copy attached herewith as Exhibit A, allowing the City
to maintain and operate the Callero Baseball Field at Baden School for a term of 20 years; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department intends to install a scoreboard for City and
co- sponsored youth baseball programs at Callero Baseball Field; and
WHEREAS, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 617 has pledged to donate and
install the scoreboard at no cost to the City; and
WHEREAS, South San Francisco Unified School District has required that the City execute a
Memorandum of Understanding prior to any installation work requiring that the City be responsible for
on -going operation and maintenance of the scoreboard after installation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco hereby
authorizes the City Manager to execute a Memorandum of Understanding, a draft attached herewith as
Exhibit B, allowing the Parks and Recreation Department to install a scoreboard at Callero Baseball
Field, located at the South San Francisco Unified School District's Baden School campus and
authorizing the acceptance of the in -kind donation and installation of a new scoreboard by the
International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

At a meeting of the Special City Council on 11/20/2017, a motion was made by Richard Garbarino, seconded
by Liza Normandy, that this Resolution be adopted. The motion passed.
