Box 711 (City Hall, 400 Grand Avenue) South San Francisco, CA Enactment Number: RES 155 -2018 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING AN $80,000 GRANT AWARD FROM THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY FOR THE "SELECTIVE TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM" TO BE USED FOR PERSONNEL OVERTIME AND TRAINING EXPENSES, AND AMENDING THE POLICE DEPARTMENT'S OPERATING BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2018 -19 BY APPROVING BUDGET AMENDMENT 19.013. WHEREAS, staff recommends the acceptance of a grant in the amount of $80,000 for personnel overtime and training expenses from the State of California, Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) for the "Selective Traffic Enforcement Program "; and WHEREAS, the grant funding will be used to augment the operating budget of the Police Department for Fiscal Year 2018 -19. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby accepts an $80,000 grant from the State of California OTS and amends the Fiscal Year 2018 -19 Police Department Operating Budget in order to reflect an increase of $80,000. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council does hereby approve Budget Amendment 19.013. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a grant agreement, any other necessary documents on behalf of the City to carry out the intent of this resolution, subject to approval as to form by the City Attorney. At a meeting of the City Council on 9/12/2018, a motion was made by Pradeep Gupta, seconded by Mark Addiego, that this Resolution be approved. The motion passed.
