1. Motion to approve the minutes of November 12, 2003
2. Motion to confirm expense claims of December 10, 2003 in the amount of $12,805.99
3. Motion to cancel regular meeting of December 24, 2003
Motion-Gonzalez/Second-Garbarino: To approve the Consent Calendar as submitted.
Unanimously approved by voice vote.
ADMINISTRATIVE BUSINESS
4. Resolution authorizing commercial rehabilitation loan agreement for the Royal Theater
Group (Group 4), 211 Linden Avenue, in an amount not to exceed $100,000
Staff Report presented by Housing and Redevelopment Manager Fragoso.
Ms. Dawn Merkes and Mr. David Schnee, 211 Linden Avenue, Group 4 Architecture
thanked Council for their time and consideration of the request of the loan and explained
the history of Group 4 in South San Francisco.
Boardmember Gonzalez questioned if there would be funds available for other applicants.
Housing and Development Manager Fragoso stated that Group 4 would be using half of
the money allocated in the Commercial Rehabilitation Program. He also questioned the
length of the loan. Housing and Development Manager Fragoso stated that it was a 15
year loan.
In response to questions from Chair Matsumoto regarding the criteria when the first loan
was made to Giorgi Brothers, Housing and Development Manager Fragoso reported that
Giorgi Brothers and the current applicants have met the criteria.
Vice Chair Green questioned if there were other applicants for loans in the Downtown
Area, Housing and Development Manager responded that they are currently looking at
another proposal and stated that there would be sufficient money for both loans.
Chair Matsumoto asked ifa fifteen year loan was standard, Housing and Development
Manager Fragoso responded, yes.
Motion-Green/Second-Garbarino: To approve Resolution No. RDA 09-2003
authorizing commercial rehabilitation loan agreement for the Royal Theater Group
(Group 4), 211 Linden Avenue, in an amount not to exceed $100,000. Unanimously
approved by voice vote.
ADJOURNMENT
Being no further business, Chair Matsumoto adjourned the meeting at 7:21 p.m.
