RESOLUTION APPROVING THE ACCEPTANCE OF
ADDITIONAL GRANT FUNDS FROM THE SAN MATEO
COUNTY AGING AND ADULT SERVICES DIVISION IN THE
AMOUNT OF $12,000 AND AMENDING THE PARKS AND
RECREATION DEPARTMENT FISCAL YEAR 2018-19
OPERATING BUDGET PURSUANT TO BUDGET
AMENDMENT #19,046.
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department's Adult Day Care program at Magnolia Center in
South San Francisco receives grant funds from San Mateo County Aging and Adult Services Division for
the purpose of providing an Adult Day Care and Transportation program services; and
WHEREAS, the Adult Day Care program operates in accordance with the California Department of
Aging and State licensing regulations, and the standards and requirements established by Aging and
Adult Services of San Mateo County; and
WHEREAS, the goal of the Adult Day Care program is to provide adult day care services including
social, emotional, healthy, and recreational activities for :Frail or disabled clients, as well as provide a
nutritious meal to clients and respite for caregivers; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department has been granted $43,735 from the San Mateo
County Aging and Adult Services Division, and this grant provides crucial funding to sustain the Adult
Day Care program at Magnolia Center in South San Francisco; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department has applied for and has been awarded an additional
$12,000 from the San Mateo County Aging and Adult Services Division, raising the total grant amount
to $55,735.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
hereby accepts additional grantfunds fi-orn San Mateo County Aging and. Adult Services Division in the
arnount of $12,000 and amends the Parks and Recreation Department's Fiscal Year 2018-19 Operating
Budget to reflect a total of $55,735 in grant funding, pursuant to budget amendment number #1.9.046.

At a meeting of the City Council on 3/13/2019, a motion was made by Richard Garbarino, seconded by
Buenaflor Nicolas, that this Resolution be approved. The motion passed.
