Adminstrative Business – Pump Station Enchancements – Gateway Campus  The Board recommends wrapping the Corten Steel around the entire structure or painting the back walls black to match. 2. OWNER Robert & Julie Bates APPLICANT All Sign Services ADDRESS 199 Airport Blvd PROJECT NUMBER P17-0098: Signs19-0006 PROJECT NAME Type “B” Sign Permit (Case Planner: Justin Shiu) DESCRIPTION Type "B" Sign Permit for a commercial building at 199 Airport Blvd in the Downtown Transit Core (DTC) Zoning District in accordance with Title 20 of the South San Francisco Municipal Code and determination that the project is categorically exempt from CEQA. The Board had the following comments: 1. The Board liked the design concept. 2. Consider adding solar panels to the proposed project. 3. Consider adding the same railing material to the front balcony. 4. The Board recommends removing the proposed flatwork in the front yard and replace with landscaping. 5. Add a minimum of one (36 inch box) tree to the back of the property as well as add a minimum of one (36 inch box) street tree in the front yard to help scale the height of the dwelling. Recommend Approval with Conditions. 4. OWNER Nathan Kitchen APPLICANT Alex Tzang ADDRESS 227 Alta Loma Drive PROJECT NUMBER P19-0014: DR18-0006 PROJECT NAME 2nd Story Addition (Case Planner: Edgar Maravilla) DESCRIPTION Design Review for a 2nd Story addition to an existing single family dwelling at 227 Alta Loma Drive in the Low Density Residential (DRL) Zoning District in accordance with Title 20 of the South San Francisco Municipal Code and determination that the project is categorically exempt from CEQA. The Board had the following comments: 1. The Board liked the design concept. 2. On the front elevation, remove the window above the garage door. 3. On the rear elevation, add another window near the 2nd floor bedroom. 4. Check with the Building Department that the shear wall near the garage will meet Building Code. 5. The Board recommends pushing out the front bay window to help break up the 2nd floor addition. 6. Add a minimum of one (36 inch box) street tree in the front yard to help scale the height of the dwelling. Recommend Approval with Conditions. 5. OWNER Raquel A. The Board had the following comments: 1. The plans need to be revised to reflect the correct setback of 15’, as currently the 2nd story addition is in the required rear yard setback. 2. Provide a (36 inch box) street tree in the front yard to help scale the height of the dwelling. 3. The proposed design has several blank walls on all the elevations. Provide a window on the second floor of the East elevation. 4. Add some windows around the staircase, specifically add a window by the stair landing, 5. Provide detail information on how the windows will be trimmed. All the windows should match. 6. Consider matching the proposed front roof with the existing roofline of the garage. 7. Check with the Building Department, as the proposed roof could have some water issues. 8. The proposed plans are missing a drainage plan. Resubmittal required. Miscellaneous - None
