WHEREAS the Uniform ~uilding Code 19:57 Edition has been
printed as a code in book form and is ~own as "Uniform Building
Cede 19~? Edition', which is the building code adopted by the
Pacific Coast Building Officials' Conference a'~ the 6th annual meet-
lng October, 19Z?, with Revisions and Additions Approved at the lath
Ammual Meet lng 0etober 1~$$;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of South Sam
Francisco do ordain as follows:
Section 1.· That certain building code known and designated
as ~t~niform Building Code l~? Edition" is hereby adopted for the
purpose of regulating the construction of buildings within said
City of South San Francisco, three (~) copies of said Uniform Building
Cede having been filed for use and examination by the public in the
office of the City Clerk of said City of South San Francisco.
Section 2. Strict compliance with the terms and provisions ,
of said Uniform Building Code is required in all building construction
work in said City of South San Francisco, to which work said Uniform
Building Code im applicable. ~
Section ~. Every person, firm or corporation who shall vi$~late
any of the provisions of this ordinance or said Uniform Building Code
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon Conviction thereof,
shall be punished by a fine not exceeding Three Hundred Dollars
($~0.00), or by imprisonment for a period not exceeding three (~)
months, or by both such fine an~ imprisonment.
Section 4. Ordinance No. 189 entitled, "Au ordinance of the
City of South San FrancisCo adopting'the Uniform Building Cede 1936
Edition and repealing ordinance No. 14S of said City of South San
Francisco entitled, 'a~ ordinance ef the City of South San Francisco
adopting the Uniform Building Code 19~ Edition adopted by the Pacific
Coast Building Officials Conference at the sixth annual meeting
October, 1927', adopted September 17, 1928~" passed and adopted by
the City Council of the City of South San Francisco on the 16th day
of November, 1936, is hereby repealed.
Section 5. This ordinance shall be published once in ~The
Enterprise and the South San Framcisco Journal", a weekly newspaper of
general circulation, printed and published in said City of South San Fr~
cisco and shall take effect and be in force from and after the expiration
of thirty (301 days after its adoption.
