HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 201-1939 ORDINANCE NO. 201 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE NO. 166 OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ENTITLED "ANORDINANCE REGULATING AND RELATING TO THE ERECTION, CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE OF ADVERTISING STRUCTURES, AND THE PLACING AND MAINTENANCE OF SIGNS IN THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO: LICENSING AND REGULATING THE OCCUP- TION OF OUTDOOR ADVERTISING: PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS AND FEES THEREFOR: REQUIR- ING THE PERMISSION OF THE OWNER OR LESSEE OF PROPERTY UPON WHICH ANY ADVERTISING STRUCTURES OR SIGN IS LOCATED, AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE", ADOPTED MARCH 5, 1934. The City council of the City of South San Francisco do ordain as follows: Section 1: Ordinance N~. 166 of the City of South San Francisco entitled "An ordinance regulating and relating to the erection, construction and maintenance of advertising structures, and the placing and maintenance of si§ns in. the City of South San Francisco; licensin§ and regulating the occupation of outdoor advertising; providing for the issuance of permits and fees therefor; requiring the permission, of the owner of lessee of property upon which any advertising structures or sign is located, and providing penalties for the violation of this ordinance", passed and adopted by the city council of said city on the 5th day of March, 1934, is here~y amended so that said Section 3 sb~ll, as amended, read as follows: Section 3: No person, firm or corporation shall engage, in, or carry on the business or occupation of outdoor advertising without paying a license fee of One Dollar ($1.00) per year for ~ach square foot of each advertising structure or sign, as those terms are defined in this ordinance, for each such advertising structure or sign. on which any advertising matter of any kind is exhibited or displayed during such year. Said license fee shall be paid annually in advance on. the second day of January of each year. Section 2: This ordinance shall be published once in "The Enterprise", a weekly newspaper printed and published in. said City of South San Francisco, and shall take effect and be in force from and after the expiration, of thirty (30) days after its adoption. -.-,-.-.-.-,-.-.-.-.- Introduced this 18th day of April, 1939, Passed and adopted as an ordinance of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meetin§ of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco on, the 1st day of May, 1939, by the followin§ vote: Ayes, Councilmen V.
