The City Council of the City of South San Francisco do """<'.~-,~
ordain as follows:
Section 1. it shall be the duty of the city clerk to
issue all licenses which may be permitted by law or the order of
the city council, and to collect all lic~se fees and 'license taxes,
which may become payable to said city. ~-
Section E. This ordinance shall be published one in "The Enter-
prise", a newspaper of general circulation published and circulated
in said 0±ty of South San Francisco, and shall take effect upon the
expiration of thirty (~0) days after adoption, provided that the
people of the City of South San Francisco shall adopt, at the gener-
al m'.-~ni~lpal election to be held in said city on the llth day of
April, 1944, an ordinance proposed by an initiative petition and enti-
tled "An ordinance amending Section ~ of' Ordinance No. 51, entitled
'An ordinance fixing the salaries and compensation of the treasurer,
clerk, marshal and recorder of the City of South S~n Francisco, and
repe&ling ordinance Number Eight of the City of South San Francisco,
passed on the 14th day of December, 1908, entitled 'An ordinance fix-
ing the salaries and compensation of treasurer, clerk, marshal and
recorder of the City of South San Fr&ncisco'".
