does ordain as follows:
WHE~ the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco did, on the ~0th day of April, 19~§, receive a writ-
ten petition from Arco Building Co., a corporation organized and
existing under the laws of the State of California, to annex to
said City of South San Francisco the uninhabited territory here-
inafter described; and
WHEREAS the territory hereinafter described is the
territory sought, in said petition, ~o be included in said City
of South San Francisco and is in fact uninhabited territory and
is contiguous to said City of South San Francisco; and
~HEREAS, en the ~0th day of April, 19~5, said City
Council did pass its certain resolution giving notice of the
proposed annexation of the uninhabited territory hereinafter
described to said City of South San Francisco and did, in said
resolution, fix Monday, the 21st day of ~ay, 19~O, at ~he hour
of 8:00 o'clock p. m., in the Council Chamber in the City Hall
of said City of South San Francisco as the time and place when
and where any persons owning real proper~y within the territory
hereinafter described, and so p~oposed to be annexed, and having
any objection to the proposed annexation of said territory, may
appear before said City Council and show cause why said terri-
tory should not be so aunexed, and ~id~, in said resolution, find
that said Arco Building Co. is the owner of all the area of the
laud hereinafter describe~,; and said City Council did, in said
resolution, direct that the City Clerk of said city cause a
copy of said resolution to be published once a week for two
(2) successive weeks prior to the 21st day of May, 1945, in
"The Enterprise", a weekly newspaper of general c Lrculation
published in said City of South San Francisco; and
~HE~ said resolution was published in said "The
Enterprise", on the following dates: May 2, 19~§, Nay
and May 16, 1945; and
UHE~ no person has filed or made any written or
other protest against the annexation of said territory, or any
part thereof, to said City of South San Francisco;
N0~V, TEEREF0~E, said City Council does ordain as
follows:
Section 1. Said City Council hereby determines that
said Arco Building Co. is the owner of more than one-fourth
(1/4) of the area of the laud hereinafter described and repres-
ents more than one-fourth (1/4) of the assessed value of sai~
land according to the last preceding equalized assessment roll
of said Cdunty of San Mateo and that said land is in fact unin-
habited territory and is contiguous to said City of South San
Franci sec.
Section 2o Said City Council does hereby approve the
annexation ~ said City of South San Francisco of the territory
described as follows:
All that certain land situate in the County of San Mateo,
State of California, and described as follows:
Beginning at the point of intersection of the south-
westerly boundary line of E1 Oamino Real, said line being the
southwesterly corporate limits line of the City of South San
Francisco, and the southeasterly boundary line of Map No. l,
Country Club Park as said boundary line is shown on that certain
map en.title~. "Tract No, ~--A, Map No. 1 Country Club Par~", file4
for~ecor~ in Boo~ ~3 of Maps at pages SA, 55 and 5~, Sas Marco
County Records; thence from said point of beginning south 30°
30' east, along the aforementioned southwesterly boundary line
of E1 0amino Real which is also the southwesterly corporate limits
line of the 0ity of South San Francisco, 1278.60 feet, more or
less, to the most northerly corner of the ~olden ~ate ~ational
Cemetery; thence leaving said lines, SOuth 50° 30' west, along
the northwesterly boundary line of said National Cemetery,
feet, more or less, to an angle point in the boundary line of
~said National Cemetery; thence north 41° 30 west along the north-
easterly boundary line of said National Cemetery 1830.18 feet,
more or less, to its interse~tion with the southwesterly produc-
tion of the aforementioned southeasterly boundary line of Map
No. 1, Country Club Par~; thence north ~o AS' east, aloag the
last mentioned production and the last mentione~ line 3841.20
feet, mOre or less, to the point of beginning.
~eo~tion 3. This ordinance shall be published by one
insertion 'in 'The Enterprise"~ a weekly newspaper of general eir-
oulatlon printed and publishe4 in said City of South ~an Fran-
cisco and shall take effect and be in force upon the expiration
of thirty (30) ~ays following its passage.
