A spaaial meeting by order of Preside-nt Hynding,.w8s held on Tues-
day, August 8, 1939 at 1:00 p.m.
Present: Andrew Hynding, Chairman, Messrs. Holston, Martinelli,
Sani, Kauffmann, McMills, Marshall, {leIte, and Secretary.
IVlr. Hynding stated the special meeting had been c'aIled to consider the
matter of an application by N~. Martin L. Dovicchi for a permit to
sell winss and beer at his Creamery, No. 325 Grand Avenue, South San
E1rSlncisco. It was also reported by Mr. Hynding that a petition was
being circulated among the business men Sind ot hers in the town oppos-
ing the granting of a license to Mr. Dovicchi at his place of busi-
ness, 325 Grand Avenue.
After due consideration it was moved by Mr. Sani, seconded by
G. vV. Holston, and unanimously adopted tha't the Planning Commission
of South San .E'rancisco send a Ie tter of ];rotest to the State Board
of illquali~ation at Sacramento opposing the granting of a license
to sell Wines and beer by Ivl. Dovicchi at his: place of business, known
as the "M &' D. Ice Cream Parlor and Sandwich Shop at 325 Gr~lind Ave.,
South San ji'ranci sca .
Chairman Hynding instructed Secretary ~'\lalker to sand this letter of
Pr{\))test to the Sta te Board of illquali zation.
The Commis2,sion also took under consideration the rec;;nuest for permiSSion
to remodel 'building loc?3ted at 739 San Bruno Road.
Hegularly moved and seco.nded tha t the Planning Commission approve
the application to remodel this, building pc' oviding same complies
fully with the building regulations of the City of So. S. .lil.

Secretary ordered to send a letter to State Highway Commission in-
forming them the Planning Commissi.on is considering giving its
approval to such a 'building , but wish the Highway Oommissi on to be
informed that lVIr.. Curusis: fully unders tands tha Highway si tuati on
as he was notified by the Building Inspector of the pr'oposad widening.
