PASSED AND AD0~ED May 4, 1925.
The City Council of the City of South San Francisco does
ordain as follows:
Section 1. Ordinance I'~o. 137 of the City cf South San
Francisco entitled: "An ordinance establishing industrial, business
and residential districts or zones in the City of South San Francisco
and expressly repealing ordinance l:Jo. ll? of the City of South San
Francisco," passed and adopted on the 4th day of May, 1925, is here-
by amended by adding thereto a new section, which shall be numbered
and read as follows:
Section 5a. i~'o building, structure, improvement or prem-
ises shall be used, and no building, structure or improvement shall
be erected, constructed, established, altered or enlarged in either
portion of the business district hereinafter mentioned which is
designed, arranged or intended to be occupied or used for any purpose
other than the follov~ing: ~tores or shops for the conduct of retail
business, the business of operating service stations, restaurants,
barber shops, beauty parlors, dry cleaning and pressing agencies and
photograph studios, i. Jo business shall be carried on or conducted on
either portion of said business district, which produces, causes or
emits any dust, gas, smoke, noise, fumes or odor or vibrations which
are or may be detrimental to other property in the neighborhood of
either portion of said business district hereinafter mentioned, or to
the welfare of the inhabitants of either' of said portions of said.

~ortion of Linden Avenue extending from the north line of Fourth
Lane in said city to the Junction of said Linden Avenue with the
west line of Bayshore Highway, and the portion of said business
district extending northerly'along the westerly boundary line of
Bayshore Highway from the northerly line of Linden Avenue to the
north boundary line of said City of South San Francisco.
Section 2. This ordinance shall be published once
in *The ~uterprise~, a newspaper of general circulation, printed
and published in said city, and shall take effect and be in force
upon the expiration of thirty (50) days after its passage and
adoption.
