AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 137
ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING
INDUSTRIAL, BUSINESS AND RESIDENTIAL
DISTRICTS OR ZONES IN THE CITY OF SOUTH
SAN FRANCISCO aND EXPRESSLY REPEALING
ORDINANCE NO. 117 OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
SAN FRANCISCO, PASSED MAY ~, 1925."
The City Council of the City of South San Francisco
does ordain as follows:
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco heretofore referred to the City Planning Commission
of said city the matter of proposed rezoning of the area of
land hereinafter described, and, thereafter said city planning
commission adopted a resolution recommending the rezoning said.
area of land and also recommending the regulations and restrictions
to be incorporated therein, as hereinafter set forth; and
WHEREAS said City Council did, on the 25th day of
July, 1997, hold a public meeting in the manner provided
by law for the purpose of giving all persons particularly interested
and the general public an opportunity to be heard and show cause
why the land hereinafter described should not be rezoned in accord-
ance with said report of said city planning commission; and
WHEREAS no protest has been~ made against rezoning said
land;
NOW, THEREFORE, s~id City Council does hereby ordain
as follows:
Section 1. Ordinance No. 137 of the City of South San
Francisco entitled: "An ordinance establishing industrial,
business and residential districts or zones in the City of South

San Francisco and expressly repealing ordinance No. 117 of the
City of South San Francisco", passed and adopted on the ~th day
of May, 1925, is hereby amended by ~dding thereto a new section
.~ ~ which shall be numbered and read as follows:
Section 5c. The land situate in said city, and herein-
after described, may be used for business purposes, but subject
to the regulations for business herei.nafter set fort!~,The land
hereinbefore referred to consists of all those lots or parcels
of land situate in the City of South San Francisco, County of
San Mateo, State of California, described as follows:
Lots numbered seventy-two (72) and seventy-three (73),
as shown upon that certain map entitled: "South City Village South
San Francisco, California", which map was filed in the office
of the County Recorder of the County of San Mateo, California,
June 20, 19A~, in Book 2~ of Maps at page 22.
The use of the land hereinbefore described for business
purposes shall be subject to the following regulations:
REGULATIONS FOR BUSINESS DISTRICT.
No building, structure, improvement or premises shall
be used, and no building, structure or improvement shall be erected,
constructed, established, altered or enlarged which is designed,
arranged, or intended to be occupied for any purpose other than
the following:
Stores or shops for the conduct of retail business; the
business of operating service stations, restaurants, barber shope,
beauty parlors, dry cleaning and pressing agency. No business
shall be carried on in ~ny part of said l~nd which produces, causes
or emits any' dust, gas, smoke, noise, fu~es or odors or vibrations
which are or may be detrimental to any other property in the
neighborhood or to the welfare of the occupants thereof.

'Section 2. This ordinance shall be published once
in "The Enterprise" a newspaper of general circulation, printed
and published in said city, and shall t~ke effect and be in
force on the expiration of thirty (30) days following its passage
and adoption.
