AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE DISPENSING OF
I'NF~B~ ~QUIDS TO THE PUBLI~ BY ~ '~-
UNATT~DED DISPENSING DE~ES ~TO THE CITY
OF SOUTH SAN F~NOISCO AND P~S~R~ING
PENALTIES FOR THE VIO~TION THE~OF.
The City Council of the City of South San Framcisco
does ordain as follows:
Section 1. For the purpose of this ordina~ce,
"inflammable liquids" include all liquids with flash point
below 110 degrees Fahrenheit as determined in a "Saybelt
Electric Open Cup Tester" and all liquids which emit a
flammable vapor with flash point at er above 110 degrees
Fahrenheit, as determined in the "Saybolt Electric Open Cup
Tester".
Section 2. In' the City of South San Francisco,
inflammable liquids, as defined in this ordinance, shall be
delivered from dispensing devices only by the operators of
such devices, their employees or authorized representatives·
When unattended, all pumps and facilities for the delivery
of inflammable liquids shall be locked and other effective
provisions made to prevent public access to supplies of such
inflammable l~'quids.
Section 3. Any person violating any of the provi-
sione~Of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and,
upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine of not
less than Fifty Dollars ($50.00] and not exceeding Three
Hundred Dollars ($3OO,00), or by imprisonment for a period not
exceeding Six (6) months, or by both such fine and imprison-
ment ·
Section &. This ur~inance shall be published in
The Enterprise, a newspaper of general circulation published
and circulated in the City of South San Francisco, and shall
take effect and be in force on the expiration of thirty (30)
days after its adoption.

South San Francisco at the regular meeting of the city
council of said city, this .21st day of February , 19~9,
