HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 305-1950 ORDINANCE NO. . i: L E D  ... ORDINAN~ PR~IDING FOR S~R ~A~ IN The City Council of ~the City of South San Francisco does ordain as follows: Section 1. Sewer rentals for domestic and commer- cial use in the City of South San Francisco and for territory situate outside the corporate limits of said city, where sewer facilities are furnished to any person, persons, or corporation in territory outside of said city, are hereby established. The rates to be charged as rentals for sewer services in said city and in territory outside of said city and the rules and regulations to be enforced with respect to said sewer rentals shall be fixed by resolution of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco and may be changed from time to time by resolution of said city council. Section 2. ~tatements of account for sewer rentals shall be made to the occupant or occupants of all property, to which sewer service is rendered by s~id city, at the end of each month of the calendar year. If the amount of such FIVE statement is not paid within THIRTY/(38) DAYS after the end ~ of any month, a penalty of TEN PERCENT (10%) of the amount due shall be added thereto. If payment of the amount of such statement is delayed SIX~TY (60) or more days after the end of any month, a penalty of TWENTY-FIVE PERCENT (25%) shall be added thereto. Any amount unpaid for sewer rental, together with the amount of any accrued penalties, shall be a lien upon the premises to which sewer service may be . rendered. The superintendent f~of streets of said city is hereby authorized and it shall be his duty to disconnect any sewer connection to the premises located either within said city, or outside said city, upon the failure of the occupant or occupants of such premises to pay such rentals prior to delinquency. Section 3. All sums of money, which may be received from sewer rentals, shall be entered by the city clerk in a separate fund in his records, which funds shall be designated "sewer rental fund". Said fund shall be used 'exclusively for the payment of bonds and interest, which may have heretofore been issued by said city to provide for sewer facilities and to pay the cost of acqui- sition, cons truction, reconstruction, maintenance, manage- ment, operation and repair of the sewer system, sewage pumping, treatment and disposal works of said city. Section ~. Any person, persons, or corporation who shall violate this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be. punished by a fine of not less than FIFTY DOLLAR~ ($50.00) and not exceed lng THREE HUNDRED DOLLAR~ ( $3OO. OO), or by imprisonment for a period not exceeding three (3) months or by both such fine and imprisonment. Section 5. This ordinance shall be published by one (1) insertion in the $0UTH BAN FRANCIBC0 ENTERPRISE- JOURNAL, and shall take effect and be in force on the e~piration of THIRTY (30) DAYS after its adoption.
