THE COUNTY OF SAN ~TEO, CALIFORNIA, EFFECTI~ "' OCTOBER 1, 1953, AS THE ELECTRICAL CODE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN F~NClSCO, A~ REP~LING ORDINANCE. NO. 126 PASSED OCTOBER 20, 1924. The City Council o£ the City o£ South San Francisco, does ordain as follows: Section 1. That certain Electrical Code, entitled, "ELECTRICAL CODE OF THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, CALIFORNIA", hereinafter referred to as "ELECTRICAL CODE", which was adopted by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo and became effective on October l, 1953, is hereby adopted as the Electrical Code for the City of South San Francisco. Three (3) copies of said code have been filed for use and examination by the public in the office of the city clerk of said city. Section 2. Subject to amendments, and also provided that the words and phrases of the said Electrical Code here- inafter respec%ively set forth shall have the respective meanings, next herein specified: (a) "County of San Mateo" shall mean "City of South San Francisco. (b). "Board of Supervisors" shall mean "City Council", (c) "County Building Inspector" shall mean "Building Inspector of the City", (d) "County Manager" shall mean "City Manager", (e) "Unincorporated Area of San Marco County" shall mean "Incorporated Area of the City of South San Francisco", Section 3, Exception 1 to Section 1 of Article 2 is hereby amended to read as follows: "Exception 1. Any electrical contractor having in his possession a valid State of California contractors' license C-10 shall be considered as duly licensed in respect to the provisions ~f this Code referring to Certificate of Compe- tency Class A required. Said contractor shall pay all permit fees required in this Code and comply with all the requirements pertaining to electrical work as set forth in this Code." Section 4. Exception 2 to Section i of Article 2 is hereby amended to read as follows: "Exception 2. Any electrical sign contractor having in his possession a valid State of California. contractors' license C-45 shall be considered as duly licensed in respect to the provisions of this Code referring to Certificate of Competency Class B required. Said contractor shall pay all permit fees required in this Code and comply with all the requirements pertaining to electrical work as set forth in this Code. "Firms hanging electrical fixtures only shall be required to have a C-61, SC license and shall be classified in this Code under Class B." Section 5. Subsection (c) of Section 3 of Article 2 is hereby amended to read as follows: "(c) Exception 1. Any electrical contractor having in his possession a valid State of California contractors' license C-10 shall be considered as duly licensed in respect to the provisions of this Code referring to Certificate of Competency Class A required. Said contractor shall pay all permit fees required in this Code -2- and comply with all the requirements pertaining to electrical work as set forth in this Code." "Exception 2. Any electrical sign contractor having in his possession a valid State of California contractors' license C-45 shall be considered as duly licensed in respect to the provisions of this Code referring to Certificate of Competency Class B required. Said contractor shall pay all permit fees required in this Code and comply with all the requirements pertaining to electrical work as set forth in this Code. "Firms hanging electrical fixtures only shall be required to have a C-61, SC license and shall be classified in this Code under Class B." Section 6. Any person, persons, firm or corporation who shall violate any provision of this ordinance or of said electrical code shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine not less than TWENTY-FIVE DOLLARS ($25.00) and not exceeding THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($300.O0), or by imprisonment for a period not exceed- ing three (3) months, or by both such fine and imprisonment. Each day's violation of said electrical code shall be deemed a separate offense and shall be punished accordingly. Section 7. Ordinance numbered 126 of the City of South San Francisco entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH THE OFFICE OF ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR IN AND FOR THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, TO REGULATE AND DEFINE THE DUTIES OF SUCH OFFICE AND TO ESTABLISH RULES AND REGULATIONS CONCERNING THE INSTALLATION, OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF ELECTRICAL WIRING AND APPARATUS, TO FIX PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF ITS PROVISIONS AND REPEALING ALL LAWS IN CONFLICT THEREWITH", passed and adopted the 20th day of october, 1925, is hereby expressly repealed. --3-- Section 8. This ordinance shall be published once in the Enterprise-South San Francisco Journal, a newspaper of general circulation, published and circulated in said City of South San Francisco. * * * * * * Introduced this 7th day of December, 1953.
