SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO PLANNING COMMISSION
Regular Meeting of February 6, 1992
CALL TO ORDER:
7:00 P.M.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
MEMBERS PRESENT:
Chairman Matteucci, Commissioners Boblitt, DeZordo, and
Zellmer.
MEMBERS ABSENT:
Vice-Chairman Warren and Commissioners Mantegani,
Wendler.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES of January 16,1992
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
ADMINISTRATIVE BUSINESS:
The Commission interviewed five candidates for the Design Review Board. At the close of
the interviews, the Commission discussed the applicants and felt that they had a very strong
group from which to choose. They narrowed the discussion to two. They were unable to
select between the two and asked that staff make inquiries of the Design Review Board as to
any personal knowledge the Board may have of the two candidates.
Items from Staff:
All the members of the Commission expressed some interest in attending the conference in
Anaheim. Chief Planner Solomon said that there was a problem with the budget but would
attempt to find money for attendance. Chief Planner Solomon mentioned that staff was
currently reviewing this year's budget seeking reductions in expenditures in the amount of 2, 4
and 5%. He further stated that if budget cuts are made at 5%, it would require leaving two
planning positions ope~ which would mean some significant reduction in the planning
program.
Regarding the Terrabay project, Chief Planner mentioned an informal comment that staff had
heard which was that it was the intent of the Resolution Trust Corporation to sell off portions
of the Terrabay project to merchant builders.

Lastly, Planner Solomon mentioned the new alternative alignment for the BART station with
a at-grade line between Mission Road and Chestnut. The Commission discussed the noise
impacts on adjacent land uses.
Chairman Matteucci adjourned the meeting at 10:00
