AN OI{DIN~.NC~ OF THI~ CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO APPROVING TI-I~ ANNEXATION OF TO T~ CITY OF 80~H SAN F~NCISCO The City Council of the City of South San Francisco does ordain as follows: W~AS the City Council of the City of South San Fran- cisco did, prior to the 6th day of June, 1955, receive a written petition from DAVID McCAHON and DORIS McCAHON, his wife, to annex to said City of South San Francisco the uninhabited territory herein- after described; and W~AS the territory hereinafter described is the territory sought, in said petition, to be included in said City of South San Francisco and is in fact uninhabited territory and is contiguous to said City of South San Francisco; and W~REAS, on the 6th day of June, 1955, said City Council did pass its certain resolution giving notice of the proposed annexa- tion of the uninhabited territory hereinafter described to said City of South San Francisco and did, in said resolution, fix Monday, the llth day of July, 1955, .at the hour of 7:30 o'clock P. M., in the Council Chambers in the City Hall of said City of South San Francisco, as the time and place when and where any persons owning real property within the territory hereinafter described, and so proposed to be annexed, and having any objections to the proposed annexation of said territory may appear before said City Council and show cause why said ~erritory should not be so annexed, and did, in said resolution, find that said DAVID McCAHON and DORIS McCAHON, his wife, are the owners of land comprising more than one-fourth (1/4) of the area of the territory hereinafter described and representing more than one-fourth (1/4) of the assessed value of said territory, according to the last preceding equalized assessment roll of the County of San Mateo; and said City Council did, in said resolution, direct that the City Clerk of said City cause a copy of said resolution to be published once a week for two (2) successive weeks at least twenty (20) days prior to the llth day of July, 1955, in the South San Francisco Enterprise- Journal, a weekly newspaper of general circulation published in said City of South San Francisco, and in the Advance-Star, a newspaper of general circulation published and circulated in the County of San Mateo, in which county the territory hereinbefore referred to is located; and WHEREAS said resolution was published in said South San Francisco Enterprise-Journal on the following dates: June 9, 1955 and June 16, 1955; and in the Advance-Star on the following dates: June 9, 1955 and June 16, 1955; and WHEREAS ~ person ha~/ filed or made written or other protest against the annexation of said territory, or any part thereof, to said City of South San Francisco, NOW, THEREFORE, said City Council does ordain as follows: Section 1. Said City Council does hereby determine that DAVID ~cCAHON and DORIS NcCAHON, his wife, are the owners of land comprising more than one-fourth (1/4) of the area of the territory hereinafter described and representing more than one-fourth (1/4) of the assessedlvalue of said territory, according to the last preceding equalized assessment roll of the County of San ~ateo,i~and that said land is in fact uninhabited territory and is contiguous to said City of South San Francisco. Section 2. Said City Council declares any and all protests against such annexation to be overruled and does approve, and does hereby order, the annexation to said City of South San Francisco of the following described territory, situate in the County of San Mateo, State of California, to be known a.s "THE McCAHON PROPERTI,': All that portion of Country Club Park as shown on map entitled "Tract No. 534 Map No. 1 Country Club Pa. rk~ San Mateo County~ California, April 1941" filed in the office of the County Recorder of San Mateo County on May 9~ 1941 in Book 23 of Maps at pages 54~ 55 and 56, described as: BEGINNING at the most Westerly corner of Lot 1~ Block "~' of the above described map; thence from said point of beginning on and along the North- westerly line of said lot, North 58° 45t East 140.00 feet to the most Northerly corner thereof, said last mentioned corner being in the Southwesterly line of "fi' Street, as shown on said map; thence along the line of "C' Street 3outh 31e 15' East 101.12 feet; thence leaving said line, South 64e 47t 34" West 140.78 feet to a point in the Southwesterly line of said Lot; thence leaving said line~ North 31~ 15t West 86.30 feet to the point of beginning, containing 0.301 acres. Section 3. This ordinance shall be published once~ and shall take effect and be in force upon the expiration of thirty (30) days following its adoption. Introduced this llth day of July, 1955. Passed and adopted as an ordinance of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco this 18th day of July, 1955, by the following vote: AYES, COUNCILMEN Andrew Rocca, Francis LucChio.
