ORDINANCE NO. 389
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
PROVIDING FOIl THE COLLECTION OF PLUMBING AND
ELECTRICAL FEES AT THE TIME OF ISSUANCE OF THE
AND AMENDING ORDINANCES NOS° 319..
BUILDING PERMIT,
and 348, ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE
PLUMBING CODE OF THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO,
CALIFORNIA, REVISED MARCH 1, 1950, AS THE PLUMBI~
CODE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO" AND "AN
ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE ELECTRICAL CODE OF THE
COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, CALIFORNIA, EFFECTIVE OCTOBER
1, 1953, AS THE ELECTRICAL CODE OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO.
126 PASSED OCTOBER 20, 1924".
The City Council of the City of South San Francisco
does ordain as follows:
Section 1. At the time of the issuance of building
permits, the Building Inspector shall, in conjunction with the
collection of the building permit fees, require the payment of all
plumbi'ng permit fees, electrical permit fees, and gas permit fees.
Section 2. Ordinance No. 319 of the City of South San
Francisco, the first ordinance designated in the title hereof, is
hereby amended by adding thereto a new section, the same to be
numbered and to read as follows:
Section 3a. For plumbing work installed in new
buildings or installed in any substantial addition,
alteration, or change in an existing building, the
Building Inspector shall compute and collect, at the
time of the issuance of the building permit and in
conjunction with the collection of the fee therefor,
plumbing permit fees in conformity with the following
schedule of flat rates:
~Building Valuation Fees
For building valuations to and including
$1000.00. ......... .. .... ...... ........... $ 5.00
For each additional $1,000.00 in valuation, or fraction thereof, to and including
$25,000.00 ...... . ....... .. ................ 50
For each additional $1,000.00 in Valuation,
or fraction thereof, to and including
$100,000.00............... .... ..... ..... . .25
For all valuations exceeding $100,000.00 ..... 40.00
The schedule of rates set forth in said Plumbing Code of
the County of San Mateo, California, as the same has been
adopted and amended by this Ordinance No. 319, shall apply
in all cases where there are to be minor alterations,
additions, or changes in or to an existing building or
its plumbing system or where plumbing work alone is
involved.
Section 3. Ordinance No. 348 of the City of South
San Francisco, the second ordinance designated in the title hereof,
is hereby amended by adding thereto a new section, the same to be
numbered and to read as follows:
Section 9. For electrical work installed in new
buildings or installed in any substantial addition,
alteration, or change in an existing building, the
Building Inspector shall compute and collect, at the time
of the issuance of the building permit and in conjunction
with the collection of the fee therefor, electrical
permit fees in conformity with the following schedule
of flat rates:
Building Valuation Fees
For building valuations to and including
$1,000.00 : ............ $4.00
For each additional $1,000.00 in valuation,
or fraction thereof .......... 50
The schedule of rates set forth in said Electrical Code
of the County of San Mateo, California, as the same has
been adopted and amended by this Ordinance No. 348, shall
apply in all cases where there are to be minor altera-
tions, additions, or changes in or to an existing
building or its electrical syste~l or where electrical
work alone is involved.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be published once as
required by law and shall take effect and be in force following
the expiration of thirty (30) days from and after the date of its
adoption.

19th day'of March 1956, by the following vote:
