CONSENT CALENDAR
1. Motion to approve the minutes of January 25, 2006
2. Motion to confinn expense claims of February 8, 2006 in the amount of$106,392.17
Motion-Garbarino/Second-Matsumoto: To approve the Consent Calendar as submitted.
Unanimously approved by voice vote.
ADMINISTRA TIVE BUSINESS
3. Resolution selecting Citigroup as underwriter for Redevelopment Agency bond sale
Staff report presented by Finance Director Steele.
Boardmember Matsumoto stated a concern that if there was a downturn in the biotech
industry it may have a detrimental effect on the City's credit rating, as similarly happened
with the .com industry. She further requested that an impartial person sit on an
interviewing team, such as an outside finance director who is knowledgeable and will
bring a balance.
Motion-Matsumoto/Second-Garbarino: To approve Resolution 01-2006, approving of
the selection of Citigroup to serve as underwriter of the 2006 Tax Allocation Bonds.
Approved by voice vote. Absent: Boardmember Addiego.
4. Resolution authorizing execution of agreement with CST Environmental Inc. for lead and
asbestos abatement at 380 Aha Vista Drive in the amount of$42,475.90
Staff report presented by CDBG Coordinator Seana O'Shaughnessy.
Boardmembers discussed with Assistant Director Van Duyn the total dollar amount the
dwelling has cost to date, what those expenses have h~en for, and how the Agency will
recoup some of these costs. Boardmember Matsumoto verified that the City uses a
checklist of items that includes lead paint and asbestos when inspecting a property for
purchase.
Motion-Garbarino/Second-Gonzalez: To approve Resolution No. 02-2006, authorizing
the Executive Director to execute a contract with CST Environmental Inc. for $42,475.90
for lead and asbestos abatement at 380 Aha Vista Drive. Unanimously approved by
voice vote.
ADJOURNMENT
Being no further business, Chairman Fernekes adjourned the meeting at 7:24 p.m.
