AN ORDINANCE OF T~ CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
AMENDING ORDINANCE N0.251 Ei~ITLED mAN ORDINANCE
TO REGULATE THE RATES, RULES AND PRACTICES OF
TAD(ICABS, BUSES AND RENT CARS OPERATING IN T}IE
CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, PRESCRIBING TERMS
AND CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH SUCH OPERATIONS MAY
BE CONDUCTED, PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOL-
ATION OF THIS ORDINANCE AND REPEALING CONFLICTING
ORDINANCESTM.
The City Council of the City of South San Francisco does or-
dain as follows:
Section 1: Amendment of Section 13 (G) of Ordinance No.251 -
Rates of Fare: Section (G) Rates of Ordinance No.2ol is hereby
amended to read:
Section (G): The rates fixed or cl~arged or collected by the
owner or driver of any taxicab, as defined in Section 1 of this
Ordinance, except for trips to or from points outside of the City
of Sout~ San Francisco where said charge is fixed on a trip basis,
shall not exceed the following:
(1) For the first 1/4 mile, or fraction thereof, fifty
cents (.50)
(2) For each additional 1/5 mile~ or fraction thereof,
ten cents (.10)
(3) The foregoing charges apply to any number of passengers
up to, but not in excess of~ five (5)~ where the point
of destination for all of said passengers is the same;
and for each such passenger in excess of five (~), the
foregoing charges may be increased by not to exceed ten
per cent (10~) thereof.

(4) When hauling passengers whose points of destination are
different, the meter shall be turned bac~ to the '~For
Hire~ position each time a passenger is discharged and
a fare collected.
(J) For each piece of luggage in excess of two (2) average
size traveling bags, or their equivalent in size, tv~enty-
five cents (25); for each trunk fifty cents (50).
(0) For waitin6~ i~en~ cents (i0) for each one minute~ or
fraction thereof, of waitin~ time after the first three
minutes.
(7) RENT CARS. It snail 'be unlawfal for the owner or driver
of any' rent car, as defined in Section 1 of this Ordi-
nance, to fix or charge or collect a rate exceeding
Three and 50/100 dollars - ( $3.50 )
per hour or fraction thereof, which rate shall be for
any number of passensers not in excess of t~e rated seat-
ing capacity of such rent car.
(b) In case any taxicab or rent car shall become disabled or
bream down, w~.ile conveyin~ passengers for l~ire, t~e time
of stoppage shall be deducted from the time charsed for.
(9) BUS FAt~S: As shall be determined by a certificate of
public convenience and necessity issued by t~e Public
Utilities Commission of the State of California.
