HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 488-1963Annexation - Portion of California Golf Club Property ORDINANCE N0.488 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING T~E ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UN- INHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED "PORTION OF CALIFORNIA GOLF CLUB PROPERTY" TO T~E CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO BE IT ORDAINED BY the City Council of the City of South San Francisco: W~EREAS, on the 21st day of January, 1963, the Council of the City of South San Francisco did pass and adopt Resolution No. 3662 giving notice of the proposal to annex certain uninhabited territory to the City of South San Francisco, said territory being therein designated as "Portion of California Golf Club Property", said Resolution describing the boundaries of the territory proposed to be annexed, and, WHEREAS, said Resolution No.3662 did contain a notice of the day, hour and place when and where the Council of the City would hear protests made by any person owning real property within the territory proposed to be annexed, the time of said hearing being not less than forty (40) nor more than sixty (60) days from the date of passage of said Resolution, and, WHEREAS, on the 4th day of March, 1963, at the hour of 8:00 P.M. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City of South San Francisco, County of San Mateo, State of California, said time and place being~he day, hour and place fixed in said Resolution No.3662 for hearing protests to the said annexation, C~NT~AL rECORO$ the said City Council did hear and pass upon all protests ~ade to the proposed annexation and did determine that protests had not been ~ade by the o~ners of one-half of the value of the privately o~ned territory proposed to be annexed as shown by the last equalized assessment roll, nor by public o~ners of one- half of the value of the publicly o~ned territory proposed to be annexed as determined by said legislative body, and ~EREAS, said territory is conti~uous to the City of South San Francisco and is uninhabited territory in the County of San Hateo, State of California, and WHE~S, the o~ners of said territory b~ve given~and exe- cuted their written consent as provided by law that the property within the annexed territory shall upon annexation be taxed and subject to taxation to pay any indebtedness or liability of the City of South San Francisco contracted prior to or existing at the time of annexation on the same basis as property is taxed throughout said City, which~r~itten consent is?presently on file with the City Clerk of said City. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of South San Francisco does hereby approve the annexation of the territory hereinafter described to the City of South San Francisco, and does hereby further ordain that the said territory be and is hereby annexed to the City of South San Francisco and is designated "Portion of California Golf Club Property". Said territory, the 0 annexation of which to the City of South San Francisco is here- in approved~ is all that territory situate in the County of San Hateo~ State of California~ more particularly described as follows: BEGINNING at the intersection of the centerline of Twelve Mile Creek with the Southwesterly line of the State Highway known as E1 Camino Real, as said intersection is described in that certain nexation to the City of South San Francisco, by Ordinance No.244, adopted January 28, 1946, by the City Council of said City, said intersection also being in the corporate limits of the City of South San Francisco as established by Ordinance No.209 of the City of South San Francisco dated August 26, 1940; thence from said point of beginning Southeasterly along said Southwesterly line of E1 Camino and said corporate limits (Ordinance No.209) to the north property line of American Homes Inc., Southwood Subdivision, a distance of 400 feet, more or less, to the easterly terminus of the course "South 61° 20' 30" West 150.00 feet" as said course is des- cribed in said Ordinance No.209; thence along said corporate limits South 61° 20' 30" West 150.00 feet, South 88° 15' 40" West 111.43 feet and South 69° 33' 30" West 343.90 feet to the intersection thereof with the corporate limits of the City of South San Francis- co as established by Ordinance No.215 of said City, dated December 1, 1941, and the northwesterly line of that certain subdivision shown on the map entitled ~'SOUTHWOOD MAP NO.3 SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO CALIF.", filed in the office of the Recorder of the County of San Mateo, State of California, on Mar~h 8, 1945, in Book 24 of Maps at page 40; thence South 69° 33' 30" West along the Northwesterly boundary of said subdivision, and said corporate limits (Ordinance No.215), 489.05 feet to the Easterly line of West Orange Avenue, as established by Deed from California Golf Club, a non-profit California Corporation, to City of South San Francisco, a Municipal Corporation, dated March 26, 1956 and recorded November 13, 1957 in Book 3307 of Official Records of San M~teo County at page 21 (97112-P); thence leaving said corporate limits along said Easterly line of West Orange Avenue, North 20° 31' West 35.65 feet, Norther- ly on the arc of a curve to the right, tangent to the preceding course said curve having a radius of 170 feet, a central angle of 32° OO~, a distance of 94.95 feet, North 11° 29' East, tangent to the preceding curve, 262.23 feet, Northerly on the arc of a curve to the left, tangent to the preceding course, said curve having a radius of 330 feet, a central angle of 13° 29', a distance of 77.66 feet and North 2° OO' West, tangent to the preceding curve, 219.41 feet to the point of intersection of the Easterly line of West Orange Avenue with the center line of Twelve Mile Creek, last men- tioned point also being in the corporate limits of the City of South San Francisco as established by the her~in first mentioned Ordinance No.244; thence along said corporate limits as follows: North 79° 11' 20" East 69.14 feet, South 85° 51' 40" East 376.60 feet, North 81° 56' 50" East 68.86 feet, South 86° 01' 5C' East 56.18 feet, and North 81° 48' 35" East 174.26 feet to the point of beginning. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Ordinance and cause it to be published once in the Enterprise- Journal, a newspaper of general circulation, published and cir- culated in said City, as required by law, within fifteen (15) days after its passage. Introduced this 4th day of March , 1963. Passed and adopted as an ordinance of the City of South San Francisco at a reKular meeting of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco this 18th day of March , 1963, by the following vote: AYES, COUNCILMEN Patrick E.
