AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.449 AS AMENDED ENTITLED
"AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
RECREATING AND RE-ESTABLISHING A PERSONNEL SYSTEM
FOR THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AND REPEALING
ORDINANCE NO.216 AND ALL INCONSISTENT ORDINANCES".
The City Council of the City of South San Francisco does
ordain as follows:
SECTION I. AMENDMENT OF SUBSECTION b. OF SECTION 4 OF
ORDINANCE N0.449 AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO.533:
Subsection b. of Section 4 of Ordinance No.449 as amended
by Ordinance No.533 is hereby amended to read:
(b) Members of the Personnel Board shall be qualified
electors of the City of South San Francisco and shall be persons
in sympathy with the merit principles of public employment. No
person shall be appointed to the Board who holds any salaried
public office of employment. A Board member may, however, im-
mediately after leaving the Board, be appointed to a salaried
job with the City, provided that he did not participate in the
creation of the job or the setting up of the examination, and
passes the examination and fulfills other regular personnel
requirements.
SECTION II. EFFECTIVE DATE AND PUBLICATION:
This Ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days from
and after its adoption and prior to the expiration of fifteen
(15) days from passage thereof shall be published at least
once in the "Enterprise-Journal", a weekly newspaper of gen-
eral~circulati°n, published and circulated in the City of South
San Francisco.
Introduced this 4th day of October , 1965 .
Passed and adopted as an Ordinance of the City of South
San Francisco at a regular meeting of
the City Council of the City of South San Francisco this 18th
day of October , 19 65 , by the following vote:
AYES, COUNCILMEN Frank Bertucelli, Patrick E. Ahern, Emilio Cortesi
Andrew Rocca and Guido J. Rozzi

ABSENT, " None
As Mayor of the City of South San Francisco, I do hereby
approve the aforegoing Ordinance this 18th day of October ,
1965 .
