AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
AMENDING ORDINANCE N0.353 AS AMENDED ENTITLED
"ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRAN-
CISCO'' (PARKING REGULATIONS FOR C-2 AND C-3
DISTRICTS)
The City Council of the City of South San Francisco does
ordain as follows:
I. AMENDMENT OF SECTION 3.5, ADDING PARKING REGULATIONS:
Subsection 3.56, which reads as follows, is hereby added to
Section 3.5 of Ordinance No.353 as amended.
3.56. ParkinR Regulations
Off-street parking on the building site shall
be required in C-2 Districts according to the formulas
set forth in Section 4.11, except for those areas of
the C-2 District located within the boundaries of the
Parking District No.1-1955-1 of the City of South San
Francisco.
II. AMENDMENT OF SECTION 3.6, ADDING PARKING REGULATIONS:
Subsection 3.6~,which reads as follows, is hereby added
to Section 3.6 of Ordinance No.353 as amended.
3.66. ParkinR ReRulations
Off-street parking on the building site shall
be required in C-3 Districts according to the formulas
CENTRAL RECORDS
set forth in Section 4.11, except for those areas
of the C-3 District located within the boundaries
of the Parking District No.1-1955-1 of the City of
South San Francisco.
III. URGENCY MEASURE:
This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an urgency
measure-to protect public safety, health and welfare, and
the following is a statement of the facts constituting such
urgency:
There are areas in the C-2 and C-3 Districts with-
in the City of South San Francisco outside the boundaries
of Parking District 1-1955-1 of the City of South San
Francisco to which the C-2 and C-3 classifications may
be applicable. There are proposed immediate developments
in said areas and the lack of parking regulations or
the provisions for off-street parking in said areas would
increase congestion in the streets, impair safety from
fire, panic and other dangers and interfere with the
adequate provision for transportation. The lack of
parking in said areas would also increase the traffic
hazards in the Districts and be a detriment to the uses
located therein and promote economic strangulation of
said areas caused by traffic congestion and lack of
parking space.
IV. PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE:
This Ordinance shall be published once in the "Enter-
prise-Journal", a newspaper of general circulation in the
City of South San Francisco, as required by law, and shall
become effective thirty (30) days from and after its adoption.

San Francisco at a regular meeting
of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco this
17thday of January , 19 66 , by the following vote:
