AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 251 OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
SAN FRANCISCO, ADOPTED ON THE 21ST DAY OF NOVEMBER 1946 AND
ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE TO REGULATE THE RATES, RULES AND
PRACTICES OF TAXICABS, BUSES AND RENT CARS OPERATING IN THE
CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, PRESCRIBING TERMS AND CONDITIONS
UNDER WHICH SUCH OPERATIONS MAY BE CONDUCTED, P~OVIDING
PENALTIES FOR THE V~OLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE AND REPEALING
CONFLICTING ORDINANCES"
The City Council of the City of South San Francisco does
ordain as follows~
Section 1. The purpose of this Ordinance is to amend
Ordinance No. 251, which Ordinance is entitled: "AN ORDINANCE TO
REGULATE THE RATES, RULES AND PRACTICES OF TAXICABS, BUSES AND RENT
CARS OPERATING IN THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, PRESCRIBING TERMS
AND CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH SUCH OPERATIONS MAY BE CONDUCTED, PROVIDING
PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE AND REPEALING CONFLICTING
ORDINANCES", and which was adopted November 21, 1946, by changing
certain paragraphs and subparagraphs of particular sections thereof.
Section 2. Subparagraphs 1., 2., and 6. of Paragraph (G)
of SECTION 13 of said Ordinance No. 251 is hereby amended, so that
said subparagraphs of said Paragraph (G) of said SECTION 13, as
amended, shall read as follows:
(G) RATES. It shall be unlawful, except for trips to
or from points outside of the City of South San Francisco where
the charge is fixed on a trip basis, for the owner or driver of
any taxicab, as defined in Section 1 of this Ordinance, to fix
or charge or collect a rate in excess of the following:
1. For the first one-fifth mile, or fraction thereof,
~'~ifty cents (50¢).
2. For each additional one-fifth mile, or fraction
thereof, ten cents (10¢).
6. For waiting, twenty cents (20¢) for each two (2)
minutes, or fraction thereof, of waiting time, after the
first five (5) minutes.
Section 3. SBCTION 17 of said Ordinance NO. 251 is hereby
amended by eliminating therefrom Paragraph (J) thereof, so that, as
amended, it shall not embody said Paragraph (J), or any part thereof,
said Paragraph (J} being hereby repealed in its entirely.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be published once as required
by~law, and shall take effect and be in force from and after thirty (30)
days following its adoption.

Passed and adopted as an Ordinance of the City of South San
Francisco at a regular meeting of the City Council of said City held
on the 15t day of May 1967 by the following vote:
