AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
SAN FRANCISCO AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO THE CONTRACT
BETWEEN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN
FRANCISCO AND THE BOARD OF ADMINISTRATION OF THE
CALIFORNIA PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. That an amendment to the Contract between the
City Council of the City of South San Francisco and the Board
of Administration, California Public Employees' Retirement
System is hereby authorized, a copy of said amendment being
attached hereto, marked "Exhibit A", and by such reference
made a part hereof as though herein set out in full.
SECTION II. The Mayor of the City Council of the City of
South San Francisco is hereby authorized, empowered, and directed
to execute said amendment for and on behalf of said Agency.
SECTION III. This Ordinance shall take effect thirty (30)
days after the date of its adoption, and prior to the expiration
of fifteen (15) days from the passage thereof shall be published
at least once in the "Enterprise-Journal", a newspaper of general ·
circulation, published and circulated in the City of South San
Francisco, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in
full force and effect.

of the City of South San Francisco this 18th day of

EXHIBIT A
AME~T TO CONTRACT BETWEEN THE
BOARD OF AI~INISTRATION
PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM
AND THE
CITY COUNCIL
OFTHE
CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
The Board of Administration, Public Employees' Retirement System, hereinafter
referred to as Board, and the CITY COUNCIL of the CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, here-
inafter referred to as Public Agency, having entered into a contract under date of
September 12, 1945, effective September 1, 1965, and as amended effective September
1, 1949, December 1, 1953, January 1, 1960, January 1, 1963, and February 1, 1967,
which provides for the participation of Public Agency in said System, Board and Public
Agency hereby agree as follows:
A. The following subparagraphs shall be added to said Contract:

Section 21251.75 of the Government Code (providing for ~ncreases in
allow~nce~ payable for t~me commencing on the first day of the calendar
month coinciding with or nex~ following the ef£ective date o~ this
amendment to persons retired prior to January 1, 1967).

Paragraphs 7 (a) and 7 (b) shall be stricken from said Contract and the follow-
ing paragraphs substituted therefor:

With respect to miscellaneous members, the public agency shall contri-
bute the following percentages of monthly salaries earned as miscel-
laneous members of said System:
(1) 0.056 percent on account of the liability for prior service
liability.
(2) 6.398 percent on account of the liability for current service
benefits.
(3) $5.00 per month for each member covered under the provisions
of Section 21380-7 (PERS Survivor Program).
7 (b)
With respect to local safety members, the public agency shall contri-
bute the following percentages of monthly salaries earned as local
safety members of said System~
(1) 0.150 percent on account of the liability for prior service
benefits.

of Section 21380-7 (Phis Survivor Program).
C. This amendment shall be attached to said Contract and shall become effective
on the 1st day of January, 1969 .
