AY~NDING ORDINANCE NO. 353, AS AP~NDED, ENTITLED
"ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CiTY OF SOUTH SAN
FP~ANCISCO~:(SOLID ~ii~iSTE DISPOSAL) .
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FP~NCISCO
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. A?~ENDi~fENT OF SECTION 3.81, ADDING SANITARY WASTE
DiSi~OSAL OR DIF~.~PING:
Section 3.81 of Ordinance 353, as amendea, is hereby
further amended by adding thereto the following:
3.81(e) Sanitary fill operation (fill and cover) for
dumping and solid waste disposal, provided the
Council or Planning Co~mission finds and determines
that the establishment, maintenance, operation or
use of the area will not under the circumstances
of the particular case be detrimental to the health,
safety, peace, morals, comfort and general welfare
of persons residing or working in the neighborhood
and will not be detrimental or injurious to property
and improvements in the neighborhood or to the general
welfare of the City.
SECTION Ii. URGENCY ~ASURE:
This ordinance is hereby declared to be an urgency measure
to protect public safety, health and welfare and the following is a
staeement of the facts constituting such 'urgency:

The present areas used for solid waste disposal in the
City of South San Francisco, known as the Marina Disposal Site,
is without capacity for further receipt of solid waste disposal
and there are areas within the M-2~dist~i$~s ~hich are available
and compatible with a sanitary fill operation. The immediate use
.of said areas is necessary to protect the public safety, health and
welfare of the City of South San F=ancisco.
This ordinance is adopted as an interim ordinance pur-
suant to Section 65858 of the Government Code of the State of
California.
SECTION iii. PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE;
This ordinance shall be published once in the "Enterprise-
Journal~;, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of South
San Francisco, as required by law, and shall take effect and be
in force immediately from and after the date of its adoption°
