HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 585-19696RDINANCE NO. 585 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AN INCREASE IN LICENSE FEES AND AMENDING SECTION VII OF ORDINANCE NO. 564 ADOPTED THE 17TH DAY OF JULY, 1967o THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. AMENDMENT OF SECTION VII OF ORDINANCE 564; .Section VII of Ordinance 564 is hereby amended to rea~: SECTION VII. LICENSE FEE. The following annual licens~ fee shall be paid for every dog over the age of three (3) months kept in the City: A. For male and unspayed female dogs, Four Dollars ($4.00). B. For spayed female dogs on proof thereof, Two Dollars ($2.00). Said annual license fees shall be due the 1st day of January of each year, except for the year of 1969 said fees shall be due the 31st day of January, and any person who fails to pay such license fee within sixty (60) days after said fee is due, or after said dog is required to be licensed, shall pay a penalty of Two Dollars ($2.00) in addition to the payment of the license fee herein required. A license shall be obtained but no license fee shall be payable for the licensing of any dog which is~being used for guide purposes by a blind resident of said City, or for dogs which have served as a member of the armed forces of the United States of America during any period of actual hos- tilities. -1- No license fee shall be charged for the licensing of any dog owned and used by public agencies for law enforcement purposes. Licenses herein provided for shall be signed by the City Tax Collector or his duly appointed deputy and issued in the same manner as other licenses. Fees collected for such licenses shall be paid into the general fund of the City, . or as otherwise provided by any contract made pursuant to the provisions hereof. Such licenses shall be numbered consecutively. ., SECTION II. URGENCY MEASURE: This Ordinance is an urgency measure and has for its purpose the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety in that it provides for the licensing and control of animals and the collection of necessary fees therefor in the City of South San Francisco.' SECTION III. EFFECTIVE DATE AND PUBLICATION: This Ordinance shall be published once within fifteen (15) days after its adoption in the "Enterprise-Journal", a news- paper of general circulation in the City of South San Francisco. Introduced this 6th day of January' , 19 6__9.
