AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
CONSENTING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A PORTION OF
CHESTNUT AVENUE WITHIN THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
AS A PART OF THE COUNTY HIGHWAY SYSTEM OF THE COUNTY
OF SAN MATEO - MISSION ROAD' TO COLMA 'CREEK.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO.
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. That within the corporate limits of the City
of South San Francisco is The portion of Chestnut Avenue
described as follows: That portion between Mission Road and
Colma Creek which is more particularly described in Exhibit
"A" attached hereto, entitled "Property To Be Declared a County
Highway."
SECTION II. That The Board of Superviso?s of The County
of San MaTeo has by Resolution 26381, passed The 20Th day of
May, 1969, declared said portion of Chestnut Avenue lying within
The City of South San Francisco to be a County Highway, pursuant
To Section 1700 .of STreets and Highways Code of The STate of
California.
SECTION III. That pursuant To Section 1701 of The STreets
and Highways Code of The STate of California, The consent.of
The governing body of The City involved, i.e., The City of
South San Francisco, is required prior To The effectiveness
of The establishment of such included portion of said City
street as part of The County Highway System; that the City
Council of The City of South San Francisco does hereby grant
its consent To The es~iblishmenT of said portion of Chestnut
Avenue as a part of The County Highway SySTem.

SECTION IV. That upon the taking effect of this Ordinance,
said portion of Chestnut Avenue shall become a County Highway
for acquisition of rights of way, construction, maintenance,
improvement and repair.
SECTION V. ,This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an
urgency measure because the provisions thereof are related to
street improvement proceedings as provided for in Section 36937
of the Government Code of the State of California.
SECTION VI. This Ordinance shall become effective upon
passage thereof and shall be published once in the "Enterprise-
Journal", a newspaper of general circulation in the City of
South San Francisco.
Introduced this 2nd day of JUne , 19 69. ~ and
passed and adopted as an urgency ordinance of the City of
South San Franci~Qo at the regular meeting of the City Council
of the City of South San Francisco this 2nd day of June
19 69 , by the following vote:
