AMENDED, ENTITLED, "AN ORDINANCE OF' THE
CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO RECREATING
AND RE-ESTABLISHING A PERSONNEL SYSTEM
FOR THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AND
REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 216 AND ALL
INCONSISTENT ORDINANCES. "'
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DOES·
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. AMENDMENT OF SECTION 6A(7) AS AMENDED.
Section 6A(7) of Ordinance 449, as amended, is hereby
amended to read:
(7) Skilled, Semi-Skilled and Unskilled:
Chief Treatment Plant Operator
Treatment Plant Operator I
Treatment Plant Operator II
Treatment Plant Laboratory Technician
Treatment Plant Maintenance Man I
Treatment Plant Maintenance Man II

SECTION II. AMENDMENT OF SECTION 6B, AS AMENDED.
Section 6B of Ordinance q~9, as amended, is hereby
amended to read:

competitive servzce:
(1) Elective Officers
(2) Members of appointive Boards, Commissions and Committees
(3) City Manager, Assistant City Manager, his secretary
and assistants
(4) Director and Assistant Dire'trot of Emergency~ Services
(5) City Attorney
(6) Director of Public Works
(?) City Planner
(8) Director of Recreation and Parks
(9) Library Administrator
(10) Chief of Police
(11) Fire Chief
(12) Director of Finance
(13) Police Cadet
(14) Park Maintenance Man III
(15) Public Works Maintenance Man III
(16) Park Maintenance Man IV
(17) Public Works Maintenance Man IV
(18) Police Records Supervisor
(19) Police Detective
(20) Motorcycle 0ffieer
(21) Police Training Officer
(22) Fire Marshal
(23) Deputy City Attorney
(24) Utility Supply Man
(25) Persons engaged under contract to supply expert,
professional or technical services for a definite
period of time
(26) Volunteer personnel such as volunteer firemen, who
receive no regular compensation from the City
(2?) Casual, seasonal or emergency employees in any office
or department of the City, including but not limited
to part-time crossing guards and intermittently
employed Street Department employees
(28) Hourly or per diem employees
(29) Part-time employees.
SECTION III. PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
This Ordinance shall be published once in the Enterprise-
Journal, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of South
San Francisco, as required-fby law, and shall become effective
thirty (30) days from and after its adoption.
