AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING THE EXISTING NAMES
OF MUNICIPAL OFFICES WHICH WERE FORMERLY
KNOWN BY OTHER NAMES, AND PROVIDING THAT THE
FUNCTIONS OF THE OLD OFFICES ARE TRANS-
FERRED WITHOUT CHANGE TO THE NEW OFFICES
DESIGNATED IN TI{IS ORDINANCE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I.
The powers and duties carried out by former offices
and officers of the municipality have been transferred to
the offices or officers specified in this section.
(a) Wherever the ordinance or resolution of the City
of South San Francisco refers to the Board of Trustees, the
reference shall be construed to be the City Council.
(b) Wherever the Ordinance or resolution of the City
of South San Francisco rfers to the Marshal, the reference
shall be construed to be the Chief of Police.
(c) Whenever the ordinance or resolution of the
City of South San Francisco refers to the President of the
Board of Trustees, the reference shall be construed to be the
Mayor.
(d) Whenever the ordinance or resolution of the City
of South San Francisco refers to the Recorder's Court, the
reference shall be construed to be the municipal court.
(e) Whenever the ordinance or resolutJ, on of the City

of South San Francisco refers to the Director of 'Public
Works or 'the Director of Ecological Development, the refer-
ence shall be construed to be the Director of Public Services.
SECTION II.
This ordinance shall be published once in the
"Enterprise-Journal", a newspaper of general circulation in
the City of South San Francisco, as required by law, and shall
become effective thirty (30) days from and after its adoption.
