HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 685-1975 ORDII~ANCE NO. 685-75 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ADOPTING A GENERAL. PENALTY. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. (a) Any person violating any of the provisions or failing to comply with any of the mandatory requirements of the Ordinances of the City of South San Francisco, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, unless the violation is made an infraction by Ordinance (b) Except in cases where a different punishment is pre- scribed by any Ordinance of the City of South San Francisco, any person convicted of a misdemeanor for violation of an Ordinance of the City is punishable by a fine of not more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00), or by imprisonment not to exceed six months, or by both such fine and imprison- ment. (c) Any person convicted of an infraction for violation of an Ordinance of 'the City of South San Francisco, is punishable by (1) a fine not exceeding Fifty Dollars ($50.00) for a first violation; (2) a fine not exceeding One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) for a second violation of the same Ordinance within one year; (3) a fine not exceeding Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($250.00) for each additional violation of the same Ordinance within one year. (d) Each such person shall be guilty of a separate offense for each and every day during any portion of which any violation of any pro- vision of the Ordinances of the City of South San Francisco, is committed, continued or permitted by any such person, and he shall be punishable accord- ingly. The following Ordinances are hereby amended to refer to Ordinance No, G85-75 Specifically, these sections are; 2.1 Ordinance 251 Section 18 of Ordinance 251 entitled, "An Ordinance To Regulate the Rates, Rules and Practices of Taxi- cabs, Buses and Rent Cars Operating in the City of South San Francisco, Prescribing Terms and Conditions under Which Such Operations May Be Conducted, Pro- viding Penalties for the Violation of This Ordinance and Repealing Conflicting Ordinances," passed November 21, 1946. 2.2 Ordinance 261 Section 7.04 of Ordinance 261 entitled, "An Ordinance Providing for Licensing of Business, Professions, Trades, Callings and Occupations in the City of South San Francisco," passed February 24, 1947. 2.3 Ordinance 333 Section 8 of Ordinance 333 entitled, "An Ordinance of the City of South San Francisco Regulating the Conduct of Minors on Streets and in Public Places," passed September 15, 1952. 2.4 Ordinance 345 Section 3 of Ordinance 345 entitled, "An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco Prohibiting the Abandonment of Ice Boxes, Refrigerators, Wells, Mine Shafts and Caves in a Condition Accessible To Children," passed October 19, 1953. 2.5 Ordinance 406 Section 7 of Ordinance 406 entitled, "An Ordinance of the City of South San Francisco Prohibiting the Carrying of Switch-blade Knives Within Said City While upon the Public Streets, in Other Public Places, or at Public Gatherings, and Forbidding the Sale of Switch-blade Knives within Said City," passed November 5, 1956. 2.6 Ordinance 412 Section 7 of Ordinance 412 entitled, "An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco Regulating Traffic upon the Public Streets and Thoroughfares of Said City and Establishing Truck Routes," passed March 18, 1957. 2.7 Ordinance 442 Section 8 of Ordinance 442 entitled, "An Ordinance of the City of South San Francisco Regulating Junk Collectors, Providing for Revocation of Permits, and Penalty for Violation," passed October 5, 1959. e I i I I1~ I I 2.8 2.9 2.10 2.11 2.12 2.13 2.14 Ordinance 449 Ordinance 457 Ordinance 480 Ordinance 482 Ordinance 485 Ordinance 491 Ordinance 529 Section 2.5 of Ordinance No. 449 entitled~ Ordinance of the City of South San Francisco Recreating and Re-Establishing a Personnel System for the City of South San Francisco and Repealing Ordinance No. 216 and All Inconsistent Ordinances," passed March 21, 1960. Section 22 of Ordinance 480 entitled "An Ordinance Prohibiting the Throwing or Depositing of Litter in Public Places in the City of South San Francisco, Regulating the Distribution of Commercial and Non- Commercial Handbills; Controlling the Depositing of Litter on Private Premises; ~Providing A Lien for City Clearance; and'Prescribing Penalties for the Viola- tion of Its Provisions," passed May 21, 1962 Section 14 of Ordinance 482 entitled, "An Ordinance Licensing and Regulating Vehicle Wrecker or Towing Service; Requiring Insurance Policies To Protect the Public, Providing for Investigation and Super- vision by the Chief of Police; Setting Forth Duties of Licensees; Providing for Revocation of Licenses; and Prescribing Penalties for the Violation of Its Provisions," passed September 4, 1962. Section 12 of Ordinance 485 entitled, "An Ordinance of the City of South San Francisco Requiring Adequate Water Supply and Fire Protection Facilities," passed November 19, 1962. Section XIII of Ordinance 529 entitled, "An Ordinance of the City of South San Francisco Regulating Solici- tations for Charitable, Patriotic, Philanthropic and Other Pu.rposes and Providing Penalties for Violations Thereof," passed June 7, 1965. Section XXXIV of Ordinance 564 entitled "An Ordinance of the City of South San Francisco Regulating the Keeping of Domestic and Wild Animals, Birds, Fowls, and Reptiles Within Said City; Providing for the Impounding and Disposition of Them When Seized While At Large Within the City," passed July 17, 1967. Section 12 of Ordinance 566 entitled, "Establishing Regulations and Procedures for the Removal of Poles, Overhead Wires and Associated Overhead Structures and for the Underground Installation of Wires and Facilities for Supplying Electric Communication or Similar or Associated Service 'in Designated Districts," passed August 7, 1967. Section IV of Ordinance 567 entitled, "An Ordinance of the City of South San Francisco To Make It Unlaw- ful to Mistreat, Injure, Disable or Kill Any Dog Used by the Police Department Or To Molest Any Such Dog While Being Used in the Performance of the Functions or Duties of Such Department or of Any Officer or Member Thereof," passed November 6, 1967. Section IV of Ordinance 596 entitled, "An Ordinance Providing for the Installation of Fire Alarm Systems, Annunciator Boards, Fire Hoses, Hose Packs and Over- riding Elevator Switches in Certain Buildings," passed June 16, 1969.
