HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 686-1975 ORDINANCE NO. 686-75 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 564 AS AMENDED, PROVIDING FOR ANIMAL LICENSE FEES AND SHELTER S.ERVICE FEES. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. AMENDMENT OF SECTION VII OF ORDINANCE 564, AS AMENDED. Section VII of Ordinance 564, adopted July 17, 1967, as amended, is hereby amended to read: SECTION VII. LICENSE FEE. The annual dog license fee shall be as hereinafter set forth in column 1, and the late charge for failure to pay such license within sixty (60) days after said fee is due or said dog is required to be licensed shall be the additional sum set forth in column 2, except licenses shall be issued without fee for the following: guide dogs used by blind residents of the County of San Mateo, dogs which have served with the armed forces of the United States during any period of actual hostilities, and dogs owned and used by public agencies for law enforcement purposes. (1) (2) Dogs, unaltered $7.00 $4.00 Dogs, altered $3.50 $4.00 Said fees for licenses shall be paid to the agency designated by City, including but not limited to the Tax Collector of the County of San Mateo or his duly-appointed deputy, and whenever the words "Tax Col- lector," "City Tax Collector," or similar terms are used in Ordinance 564, as amended, the same shall mean the agency designated by City, including but not limited to the Tax Collector of the County of San Mateo or his duly-appointed deputy. 1. IIII ~r I il~ ~ r · .. . . SECTION II. AMENDMENT OF SECTION IX OF ORDINANCE 564, AS AMENDED, Section IX of Ordinance 564, adopted July 17, 1967, as amended, is hereby amended to read: SECTION tX. DUPLICATE TAGS. Whenever a tag, issued for the then current year has been stolen or lost, the owner or possessor of the dog for which the same was issued, may, upon the payment of One Dollar ($1.00), and on making and subscrib- ing to an affidavit of such loss, receive a duplicate tag for the remaining portion of the then current year. SECTION III. AMENDMENT OF SECTION XIX OF ORDINANCE 564, AS AMENDED. Section XIX of Ordinance 564,' adopted July 17, 1967, as amended, is hereby amended to read: SECTION XIX. ANIMAL SHELTE.R SERVICE FEES. The fees for animal shelter services in impounding and caring for animals shall be as follows, and no animal shall be released to its owner or keeper before such fees are paid in full: (1) Large animals, including, but not limited to, horses, mares, mules, asses, bulls, oxen, or calves, and any animal exceeding the weight of four hundred (400) pounds, the sum of Fifteen Dollars ($15.00) plus the sum of Three Dollars ($3.00) per day to be paid by the owner thereof; (2) Medium-size animals, including, but not limited to, sheep, lambs, goats, or hogs, and any animal weighing four hundred (400) pounds or less, the sum of Twelve Dollars ($12..00), plus the sum of Three Dollars ~3.00) per day for keeping of said animals, to be paid by the owner thereof. (3) The owner of any dog or cat impounded pursuant to the terms of this Ordinance shall pay the sum of Ten Dollars ($10.00) for the first occurrence, Twenty Dollars ($20.00) for the second occurrence, Thirty Dollars ($30.00) for the third occurrence, plus the sum of Three Dollars ($3.00) per day for the keeping of each of said animals. (_4) Animals not otherwise specified: The owner of animals for which an impound charge or boarding charge is not otherwise herein provided, shall pay the sum of Two Dollars ($2.00) plus the sum of Fifty Cents ($.50) per day for the keeping of each of said animals. (5) Posting of the notice of animals impounded: For posting of notice of animals impounded, Two Dollars ($2.00) for each notice, and for conducting sales in accordance with the terms of Ordinance 564, as amended, the sum of Two Dollars ($2.00) for each animal sold. SECTION IV. PUBLICATIDN AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
