AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AUTHORIZING AN AMEND-
MENT TO THE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AND-THE
BOARD OF ADMINISTRATION OF THE CALIFORNIA
PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That an amendment to the Contract between the City Council
of the City of South San Francisco and the Board of Administration, California
Public Employees' Retirement System is hereby authorized, a copy of said
amendment being attached hereto, marked "Exhibit A", and by such reference
made a part hereof as though herein set out in full.
SECTION 2. The Mayor of the City Council is hereby authorized, empowered,
and directed to execute said amendment for and on behalf of said Agency.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall take effect 30 days after the date of
its adoption, and prior to the expiration of 15 days from the passage thereof
shall be published at least one time in the "Enterprise-Journal", a newspaper
of general circulation, published and circulated in the City of South San
Francisco and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force
and effect.

referred to as Board and the CITY COUNCIL of the CITY OF SOUTH S~$ FRANCISCO,
herei~Tter referred to as Public Agency, having entered into a contract under
date of September 12, 1945, effective September l, 1945, and as amended effective~
September l, 1949, December l, 1953, Jan,,w!-y 1, 1960, January l, 1963, Febrna~y !,
1967, January l, 1965,~ January l, 1969, November 1, 1973, and April 19, ,1974, i~.
which provide for participation of Public Agency in said System, Board and
Public Agency hereby agree as follows:
Subparagraph 5 (e) shall be stricken from s~id contract and the
following sub-paragraph shall be substituted therefor:
Section 21263 (providing upo~ the death of a member who retired
for service or disability for the continuatio~ of a post-
retirememt survivor allowance to certains~vivors).
Paragraph 6 (b) shall be stricken from s~id contract and the following
paragraph substituted therefor:
6. Public Agency sh~ll contribute to said Retirement System as follows:
With respect to locml safety members, the publicagency shall
contribute the followingpercentages of monthly salaries
earned as local safety members of said System:
(1)
O.129 percent until June 30, 2000 on accoumt of the
liability for prior service benefits.
(2). 16.432 percent on account of the liability for current
service benefits.
(3) O.150 percent until October 31,1983 to provide the
benefits u~der Section 21222.1 of the Government Code.
(4) 0.055 percent on account of the liability for the
1959 Survivor program.
