AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 5.5(a), 6.21(a),
6.31(a) and 6.61(a)-1, AND ADDING SECTION 6.66,
'FEES, TO ORDINANCE NO. 353 AS AMENDED.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DOES ORDAIN
· AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. AMENDMENT OF SECTION 5.5(a), 6.21(a),6.31(a) and
6.61(a)-1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 353 AS AMENDED.
Sections 5.5(a), 6.21(a), 6.31(a) and 6.61(a)-1 of Ordinance No. 353,
as amended, entitled "Zoning Ordinance of the City of South San Francisco"
are hereby amended to read:
5.5(a) An ·application for a permit in any. R-3 C or
M District shall be accompanied by the appli-
cable fee as set forth in Section 6.66, archi-
tectural drawings or sketches showing the
elevations of the proposed building or
structure and proposed landscape or other
treatment of the grounds around such building
or structure. Such drawings or sketches shall
be considered by the Planning Commission in
an endeavor to provide that the architectural
and general appearance of such buildings or
structures and grounds be in keeping with the
character of the neighborhood and that they
not be detrimenal to the orderly and harmonious
development of the City or impair the desirabil-
ity of investment or occupation in the
neighborhood.
SECTION 2.
6.21 (a)
Ordinance No.
Applications for use permits may be made
only by an interested party and shall be
made to the Planning. Commission in writing
on a form prescribed by the Commission and
shall be accompanied by plans and eleva-
tions necessary to show the detail of the
proposed use of the building. Such appli-
catlon shall be accompanied by a fee as
set forth in Section 6.66, no part of which
shall be refundable.
6.31(a) Applications for variance permits may be
made only by an interested party and shall
be in writing on a form prescribed by the
Planning Commission and shall be accompanied
by a fee as set forth in Section 6.66, no
part of which shall be refundable.
6.61(a)-lAnamendment may be initiated by:
1. The verified petition of one or more
owners of property affected by the proposed
amendment, which petition shall be filed with
the Planning Commission, and shall be accom-
panied by a fee as set forth in Section 6.66,
no part of which shall be refundable.
AMENDMENT OF ORDINANCE NO. 353, AS AMENDED, ADDING SECTION
6.66, FEES.
353, adopted August 10, 1954, as amended, entitled

"Zoning Ordinance of the City of South San Francisco," is hereby amended by
adding thereto Section 6.66, FEES, which reads as follows:
6.66 FEES.
The fees for 'processing applications to the Planning Commis-
sion for use permits, variances, zone amendments and zone
changes shall be the base fee plus the additional fee if
applicable, as set forth in the following fee schedule:
BASE FEE
(1) Zone Addition
(2) Rezone amendments
(3) Use permits
(4) Variances
(5) Architectural Control:

-An application made for a permit for any building or
structure in any R-3 C or M district shall be
accompanied by the applicable following fee:
R-3 District $25.00
C District $50.00
M District $75.00
(6) Signs.
The application fee for signs in all zone districts.
shall be accompanied by a fee of $25.00.
ADDITIONAL FEES.
Additional fees which are not refundable, shall be based

on building a structure valuation determined by
reference to building valuation data as modified
by the Regional Modifier and Current Costs as
published monthly by the International Conference
of Building Officials. Said additional fees
shall be as set forth in the following schedule:

$2,000,000 to $4,999,999
$5,000,000 to $9,999,999
$10,000,000 or more

SECTION 3. EFFECTIVE DATE AND PUBLICATION.
This Ordinance shall be published once in the Enterprise-Journal, a
newspaper of general circulation in the city of South San Francisco, as
required by law, and shall become effective thirty (30) days from and
after its adoption.

Passed and adopted as an Ordinance of the City of South San Fran-
cisco at a reqular_ meeting of the City Council of the City of
South San Francisco this 16th day of November , 1977, by the
fol lowing vote:
