HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 791-1979~-~ .ORDINANCE NO. 791-79 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 6 OF ORDINANCE NO. 449, ADOPTED MARCH 21, 1960, ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUll~ SAN FRANCISCO RECREATING AND RE-ESTABLISHING A PERSONNEL SYSTEM FOR THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 216 AND ALL INCONSISTENT ORDINANCES." THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. AMENDMENT OF SECTION 6. Section 6 of Ordinance No. 449, adopted the 21st day of March, 1969, entitled "An Ordinance of the City of South San Francisco Recreating and Re-Establishing a Personnel System for the City of South San Francisco and Repealing Ordinance No. 216 and All Inconsistent Ordinances," as amended, it hereby amended to read: SECTION 6. COMPETITIVE SERVICE A. The following positions or offices shall be in the competitive service. PUBLICATION. Pursuant to the provisions of Government Codes 36933 (revised by Chapter 850, Statues of 1978), a Summary of this Ordinance shall be prepared by the City Attorney. At least five (5) days prior to the Council meeting at which this Ordinance is scheduled to be adopted, the City Clerk shall (1) publish the Summary and (2) post in the City Clerk's Office a certified copy of this Ordinance. Within fifteen (15) days after adoption of this Ordinance, the City Clerk shall (1) publish the Summary and (2) post in the.City Clerk's Office a certified copy of the full text of this Ordinance along with the names of those City Council members voting for and against this Ordinance, or otherwise voting. SECTION 3. EFFECTIVE DATE This Ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days from and ~fter its adoption. ii I II ~ i iiii 4 . CE. The Ordinance will make the following changes 'in Section 6 of Ordinance No. 449 adopted March 21, 1960, as Amended (South San Francisco Personnel Ordinance): (a) ClassificatiOnS.~Added. The Classifications of (1) Super- intendent of Parks and Landscape and (2) Parks Supervisor will be added, and (b) Classifications i'~bolished. The classifications of (1) Landscape Specialist, (2) Parks Superintendent and (3) Parks Maintenance Worker IV will be abolished. 2. A certified copy of the full text of this Ordinance is posted in the office of the City Clerk, City Hall, South San Francisco, California. The Ordinance was read for the first time on the 161day of May , 1979, and is scheduled for second reading and adoption on the 6 day of June , 1979. 3. This Ordinance Summary was prepared pursuant to Government Code ~ 36933 (revised by Chapter 850, Statutes of 1978).
