RESOLUTION TO APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE
PAYMENT OF ADDITIONAL ONE-TIME PAYMENT
OF ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION IN THE
AMOUNT OF $2,00044,000 TO CITY OF SOUTH SAN
FRANCISCO PART-TIME HOURLY EMPLOYEES.
WHEREAS, Part-time hourly employees of the City of South San Francisco have served and
continue to serve as essential workers during the COVID-19 pandemic and worked to provide critical
services in the areas of emergency medical response, police services support, childcare, education, park
and facility maintenance, and other high -contact services roles; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of South San Francisco wishes to recognize part-time
hourly employees for extraordinary ongoing and future efforts to provide continued and enhanced
services to the South San Francisco community with a one-time payment of additional compensation of
$2,00044,000 for hourly employees who have worked an average of ten (10) hours per week between
May 1, 2021 and April 30, 2022 and continue their employment with the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco does hereby:
Approve a one-time payment of additional compensation of $4,000 for part-time hourly workers
who worked an average of 30 hours or more between May 1, 2021 and April 30, 2022 and
continue their employment with the City as of the date this resolution is adopted.
2. Approve a one-time payment of additional compensation of $3,000 for part-time hourly workers
who worked an average of 20-29 hours between May 1, 2021 and April 30, 2022 and continue
their employment with the City as of the date this resolution is adopted.
3. Approve a one-time payment of additional compensation of $2,000 for part-time hourly workers
who worked an average of 10-19 hours between May 1, 2021 and April 30, 2022 and continue
their employment with the City as of the date this resolution is adopted.
4. Authorize the City Manager and the Human Resources Director to determine eligibility for
payment in accordance with this resolution and issue payments to employees with the pay period
following adoption of this resolution.

At a meeting of the City Council on 7/13/2022, a motion was made by Councilmember Addiego,
seconded by Councilmember Flores, that this Resolution be approved. The motion passed.
