TELECONFERENCE MEETING
The City Council will meet by teleconference, consistent with the Brown Act as amended by AB 361
(2021). Under the amended rules, the City will not provide a physical location for members of the
public to participate in the teleconference meeting.
Mayor Nagales called the meeting to order at 7:48 p.m.

ADMINISTRATIVE BUSINESS
1. Report regarding adoption of a resolution authorizing the City Manager or his designee to
pursue the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) Guaranteed Income Pilot grant
program and to allocate $1,500,000 in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds as required
matching funds. (Christina Fernandez, Assistant to the City Manager and Karen Chang,
Director of Finance)
Assistant to the City Manager Fernandez presented the report. She provided an update on the South
San Francisco Guaranteed Income Program. The update shared the populations that received
financial assistance, the essentials participants spent their disbursements on, and the impacts the
program has had on them thus far.
Motion — Mayor Nagales /Second – Councilmember Coleman: To adopt Resolution No. 140-2022
authorizing the City Manager or his designee to pursue the California Department of Social
Services (CDSS) Guaranteed Income Pilot grant program and to allocate $1,500,000 in American
Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds as required matching funds, by roll call vote: AYES:
Councilmembers Addiego, Coleman, and Flores, Vice Mayor Nicolas, and Mayor Nagales; NAYS:
None; ABSENT: None; ABSTAIN: None.
