Box 711 (City Hall, 400 Grand Avenue) South San Francisco, CA City Council Resolution: RES 181-2022 File Number: 22-869 Enactment Number: RES 181-2022 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING $29,454.17 FROM THE SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY TO SUPPORT AN OPENING DAY COLLECTION IN THE NEW MAIN LIBRARY, AND APPROVING BUDGET AMENDMENT 23.030. WHEREAS, the South San Francisco Friends of the Library (FOL) advocates for and supports the diversity of library services, programs and collections; and WHEREAS, the FOL has set aside $29,454.17 of funds as a donation to support the opening day collection in the New Main Library; and WHEREAS, the opening day collection will feature classic materials as well as current bestsellers for all ages, in book, DVD and Blu-ray formats; and WHEREAS, staff recommends the acceptance of the donation in the amount of $29,454.17 from the FOL to support an opening day collection in the New Main Library; and WHEREAS, the grant funds will be used to amend Fiscal Year (FY) 2022-2023 Operating Budget of the Library Department via Budget Amendment 23.030. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco does hereby accept $29,454.17 in donations from the South San Francisco Friends of the Library, to support an opening day collection in the New Main Library. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council approve Budget Amendment 23.030 to amend the Library Department's FY 2022-2023 Operating Budget in order to reflect an increase of $29,454.17. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby authorizes the City to execute the documents m --necessary to accept the grant funding and take any other actions necessary to carry out the intent of this resolution on behalf of the City Council, subject to approval as to form by the City Attorney. The motion passed.
