Resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute a
grant agreement to the South San Francisco Women's
Club for a grant award of $25,000.00 allocated to fagade
and tenant improvement repairs to the Women's Club
building located at 470 Grand Avenue in South San
Francisco.
WHEREAS, the South San Francisco Women's Club operates out of 470 Grand Avenue in
South San Francisco; and
WHEREAS, the Women's Club has a long history in South San Francisco and dedicates their
work to helping improve the quality of life for South San Francisco residents; and
WHEREAS, the Women's Club has suffered drastically throughout the COVID-19 pandemic
and has not been able to rent out their clubhouse or hold their fundraisers to raise money for the club and
the community; and
WHEREAS, routine and required maintenance work cannot be completed due to the lack of
funding caused by the pandemic; and
WHEREAS, executing a grant agreement for $25,000.00 to the women's club will allow them
to make their necessary repairs so they can hold successful fundraising efforts to put back into the South
San Francisco community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
hereby authorizes the City Manager, or his designee, to execute a grant agreement to the South San
Francisco Women's Club for a grant award of $25,000.00 allocated to fagade and tenant improvement
repairs to the Women's Club building located at 470 Grand Avenue in South San Francisco.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution shall take effect immediately.

At a meeting of the City Council on 11/9/2022, a motion was made by Councilmember Flores,
seconded by Councilmember Addiego, that this Resolution be approved. The motion passed.
