AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 455
ENTITLED, "SIGN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO" AND THE SOUTH SAN
FRANCISCO MUNICIPAL CODE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. SECTION 12 OF ORDINANCE 455 AND SECTION 17.20.060 OF THE
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO MUNICIPAL CODE AMENDED
Section 12 of Ordinance 455 and Section 17.20.060 of the South San
Francisco Municipal Code are hereby amended to read as follows:
"Removal of Unsafe and Unlawful Signs.
a. The owner of any sign as defined and regulated by this ordi-
nance including supporting structure, shall keep the same in a safe
condition, at all times.
b. If the Building Inspector shall find that any sign regulated
herein is unsafe or insecure, or is a menace to the public, he shall
give written notice to the sign owner and to the property owner. If
such sign owner fails to remove or alter the sign so as to comply with
the standards herein set forth within thirty (30) days after such
notice, the Building Inspector may cause such sign to be removed or
altered to comply at the expense of the sign owner or owner of the
property upon which it is located.
c. The Building Inspector may cause any sign, which is an imme-
diate peril to persons or property or which is located on public
property in violation of Section 17.20.020 of the South San Francisco
Municipal Code, to be removed summarily and without notice."
SECTION 2. PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
This Ordinance shall be published once in the Enterprise-Journal, a
newspaper of general circulation in the City of South San Francisco, as re-
quired by law, and shall become effective thirty (30) days from and after its
adoption.
