AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2.56.040 OF THE SOUTH SAN FRAN-
CISCO MUNICIPAL CODE AND SECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE NO. 710
ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
PLANNING COMMISSION"
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. SECTION 2.56.040 OF THE SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO MUNICIPAL CODE AND iSECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE NO. 710 AMENDED
Section 2.56.040 of the South San Francisco Municipal Code and Section 3
of Ordinance No. 710 are hereby amended to read as follows:
"2.56.040 Chairman, chairman pro tem, and secretary. On the second
Thursday of January of each year, the commission shall elect a chairman, chairman
pro tem, and appoint a secretary and secretary pro tem. The term of said offices
shall be one year. The chairman pro tem and secretary pro tem shall serve in
the absence of the chairman and secretary."
SECTION 2. SEVERABILITY.
If any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this Ordinance
is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional, such decision shall not
affect the validity or constitutionality of the remaining portions of this Ordin-
ance. The City Council hereby declares that it would have adopted this Ordinance
and each section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase hereof, irrespective of
the fact that any one or more sections, subsections, sentences, clauses or phrases
be declared invalid or unconstitutional.
SECTION 3. PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
This Ordinance shall be published once in the "Enterprise Journal", a
newspaper of general circulation in the City of South San Francisco, as required

by law, and shall become effective thirty (30) days from and after its
adoption.
